Hey just got my 2nd mustang today. First was a 1967 coupe almost 40 years ago. This one is a 1965 with a 289. I am not a mechanic. It's hard to start. Either the starter drags or the battery is low? Any ideas?

First check to make sure the motor block is grounded to the frame or firewall as they normally were .Check your cables ,they may be loose in the battery clamps or corroded .Clean the clamps and the battery posts .
You can have the battery tested at Auto Zone i think for free . If it isn't any of these things it is probably a worn out starter .
