How Can I Identify Which Ford Racing Crate Engine I Have?

Just picked up a new toy/project, 1969 Fastback that is a Mach 1 clone. The guy I bought it from said he had a 351W Ford crate engine put in it, but his ex threw out all the paperwork and receipts of the work that was done. The engine was installed about 10 years ago. The heads appear to be aluminum and have SVO stenciled into them. Any ideas if there is a part number on the motor that would identify what crate it is?

Hard to tell with the air cleaner and distributor in the way, but it looks likes 351W. One sure fire way to tell is to measure the width of the intake manifold. The 302 intake measures about 8-1/2 to 9" in width, where the 351W is about 10" in width.

The 351W will also have 1/2" head bolts....but that'll be tough to determine unless you're willing to remove one.

Many of Fords crate engines got the SVO (GT40X) cylinder heads.
