Key Fobs Not Working

Both of my key fobs stopped working a week apart. I changed batteries still nothing, trying the programing and would work until key was turned off. Talked to a tech at the dealer and he said it sounded like the GEM module, then told me they where obsolete for this year. OK , what is the GEM module and where is it located on a 99 GT convertible ???

Just had to replace mine. Scored it at a junk yard for like 20 bucks.

It is under the dash above the hood release handle. Little black box that has 3 or 4 plugs that go into it.

Changed the module out and everything works except the key fobs work when they want. Could be a problem with the replacement GEM...?
