Leaky Accelerator Pump

I'm trying to fix a very slow gas leak on a 68 Mustang. The accelerator pump has a small hole directing under the lever that hooks to the linkage. It would appear to me that the accrual pump behind the cover is meant to be dry between the pump and the cover. The old pump had a crack in it so I replaced that with a new one. Unfortunately, it still leaks the same. I suspect this is an easy fix for someone who's done this before. Any ideas???
