I'm kind of new to mustangs in general and I'm not too car knowledge but I always like to learn. Anyways I found one I liked on Craigslist seen here
https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/cto/5528490522.html

The owner said the previous owner swap in a 4valve. Now what does that involve he said the block is a teskid and the heads are from a mark viii. Does that add more power over the stock 2valve mustang f so how much.. Also he said it has borla exhaust.

Is there anything to look for in particular with the 4valve. Also is it worth 5,500 obo. Just don't want to waste my money.

These are the questions I would ask.
1. Is the mileage listed since the motor swap or is it the original mileage?
2. Has the motor ever been dyno'd?
3. How long has the current owner had the car and how many miles has he driven it?
4. Definitely pull a vehicle history report from Carfax or some other.
5. Does he have service records?
6. Take it to a local reputable mechanic that knows Mustangs before you purchase.

Hello and good job on consulting help about a new car. Typically a 2 or 3 valve to 4 valve involves obviously the complete motor swap, the transmission, ECU, BCU, complete body wire harness, and whatever they did to the exhaust system as well. If its a Cobra conversion that was done correctly then it can be worth that amount. If you can; have a really good mechanic friend goto check it out with you and hopefully they owned a mustang as well.

Well in my opinion the 2000 is a good choice in mustangs, they call it the New Edge mustang which many here probably already know... And when it came out, it was considered to be the Best Mustang of its time ( which of course they have surpassed that) I have one and I love it, it handles better than the 88 GT that I had years ago... Now if the did a 4 valve swap then that is a very good upgrade and I would definitely buy it if it was done properly because they basically changed that car from a GT ... To a... Mach 1 or Cobra which depending on engine upgrades may have roughly 70+ more horses than a standard GT.... This is just rough estimate as I don't remember the exact power for that year but I believe a stock GT is 260 and a cobra is around 340....
Take the other guys advice here and let us know how u come out bro
