My 64 1/2 170 cid with a C4 conversion just added has lack of power issues. Are there any shops in the San Francisco area that can do a performance analysis/work for a 50 yr old car? Rebuilt engine has less than 100 miles on it.

you get more torque by spinning a wagon wheel than you do from a stock 170 inline six. i am sure that there are hot rod shops in san fran, but most will tell you to put a V8 in. what you need is someone who can help guide you though the ins and outs of building a performance six. perhaps someone like........me, and the guys here;

www.fordsix.com and here;

www.classicinlines.com

understand that building the six for performance isnt going to be as easy as building a 302. you dont have a removable intake that you can swap out for something from edelbrock, and performance parts are going to be more expensive.

so start with what you want from this engine, and lets work from there.
