Finally installed the new motor mount the other day seems to have been made in Pakistan.... Should of took this to be a bad sign Pakistan isn't really known for high quality manufacturing LOL

Anyway I did this at night in the cold with motor in car...everything was in a bind...after I finally got everything straight the holes in the motor mount were off...I couldn't get the damn thing back out and ended up dremeling out the holes in the mount just enough to get it to work from under the car...and of course the very back bolt tried to strip on me so a tap come into play...NOT FUN NOT FUN AT ALL...

There is some good news kinda...a wile back the guy that had the car before the guy I bought it from posted it on Craigslist saying that it had a Autozone motor installed back in 03 I wrote this off because everybody on there says "newer motor" or "just rebuilt" trying to sell there junk BUT wile swapping the mount I found a date stamp on the block over the starter that says 12/22/99 15:23 so pretty sure not the original motor

Something quick and easy... New Proform adjustable shift light #67005C and UPR tach mount #1104-01

After the trip to the drag strip earlier this year I quickly realized that me and my buddy were shifting all over the place and decided then I wanted a shift light for some level of consistency... There's actually a Auto-Meter tach with shift light iv been wanting but I haven't been able to talk myself into spending $150 to put a tach right next to a tech but I here the factory tach in these cars can be way off in the higher RPM's so i'm going to sit on the Proform light for a bit and see how I like the looks of it and mite end up getting the Auto-Meter anyway...

Looks like ill be needing to pickup a new transmission mount for this poor old girl I was kinda thinking about upgrading to a poly mount but it seems that no one makes one for the 96-98 GT's with the standard non "Cobra spec" T45 transmission or i'm just not looking that hard??? Dose anyone knows if anybody makes them???

Nether did I till I started looking for a mount I knew the drive gear for the speedo was different but guess the 96-98 Cobras T45 has a longer tail shaft or some damn thing and has a little different setup more like a T56 I guess??? Anyway but turns out they use a different mount to.

Hooked up the shift light today it works well there's a 200-300rpm deference between the tach and light over 5k so one or the other is off... I also called some parts stores about getting a new T45 transmission mount turns out that no one carry's them or can order them??? Come on now they can't be that uncommon its a transmission mount for a MUSTANG??? So I guess ill be heading to the Ford dealership to buy an OEM replacement mount...

On a sad note it wont matter if I got a new transmission mount right now because looks like the damage is already done... Iv noticed an odd vibration thats gotten worse and worse sins installing the new motor mount at first it would only happen for a split sec here and there... I thought it was just the transmission mount but I was wrong after crawling under the car to take a pic of the mount I checked the driveshaft and discovered that the output shaft in the transmission is wobbling around so guess my odd vibration is the transmission itself coming apart LOL got to love high mileage cars

Another thing iv been working on is replacing the speakers I got some used Sony 5.25" speakers, Boom Mat speaker baffles, and 5.25" to 5X7/6X8 speaker adapters iv only got the one pair of speakers so I'm debating on weather or not I want to throw these in or wait till I get the other set...

I went for the 5.25" speakers over factory for 1. You get a better selection to chose from over that odd ball size Ford likes to use and 2. The 5.25" speakers have a smaller RMS over larger speakers so I should be able to get a better sound out of them

Some good news I hope a buddy of mine picked up a 99 F150 with the 5.4 witch has PI heads and he's going to give me the heads...Now I say I "hope" because although he's giving me the heads the motor is blown and I have no idea as of yet if there's any damage to the head with the blown piston BUT there free... I should have them off the truck this weekend and ill update...

Well like everything else that was way harder than it needed to be. The truck I got the heads off of was not maintained at all probably the reason it blew? Blots were rotted that should not of been everything was rusted or stuck and had to destroy the valve covers because of zed reasons. But there off and home just need to clean them up and go from there...

Here's the damaged cylinder chamber with the piston that gave up on life its kinda beat up but it should be OK after some mill work BUT i'm going to hold off on final judgment until they go to the machine shop.
12360428_1112994065407467_151147147997566693_n.jpg

Most of it seems to just be cosmetic except for one deep gouged that i'm worried mite heat up and cause premature detonation but we'll see that the old timers at the machine shop have to say.
