Hi in a few hours my 66 Mustang 289, with 3 speed will arrive!!!

This is my first mustang, but not my first classic vehicle, I have a had few bugs.

Anyway its running older restoration, but has been off the road for a few years so what should a look for

I am planning on giving it a tune up(plugs, wires, coil, points, cap, rotor, rebuild carb, timing) but is there anything specific I should work on or look out for?

Thanks

Check the crumple zones in the motor bay, they are located between the fender and shock towers. Check engine bay and general making sure there's no unusual welds, cracks, painted over bumpy surfaces, you're looking to see if it had been in a major head-on collision or chopped up in any way, good luck! Keep us updated.
