Drivetrain Ordering New Axles

5 lug drum cover

Hey does anyone have an idea what 5 lug drum cover works as a direct swap or does everyone weld the 4 lug holes and redrill 5 lug? I'd rather have a direct swap obviously.

83 to 95 (or so) Ford Ranger drums. There are apparently two sizes, go with the small ones. Supposed to be a direct swap, no changes, (except for the axles of course)

I was told the '74 rear end is different than the 75-78? Any truth to this. (I know its and old thread I want to go 5 lug.

I don't know for 100% certainty, but I don't think there are any differences between the different years except ratios and if it were the 8" or the 7.5 (or whatever that 4 cylinder rear was), but that should be self explanatory....
