I have a 2003 Convertible GT and I have painted those parts before. The side scoop inserts just pop out. Now the hood scoop insert was a little tricky. You have to paint it in place by taping everything off and then use newspaper and sheets to cover the hood from overspray. It is really a one shot deal. If you do not tape off well you just made a big mess. Take your time.
