Service Engine light?

Ok, just got back from autozone, it was free btw, and they pulled my code. It said "system running too lean" I remembered that a little bit ago I rotated my maf so the plug was towards my passenger fender. I did this because I had it clocked so the plug was toward the motor and I had a flat spot. After I did this it idled a little rough, but not enough for me think that it was running that lean. I rotated it to the top and it idled alot smoother. I never did hear any spark knock before so that's why I didn't think it was running real lean. I drove it home after I rotated it back and I didn't hear any spark knock either.

I unplugged the battery to clear the code, will this work?

Sometimes it will clear it, sometimes it won't. There are some codes that need to be cleared for a long time before they will turn off the light...sometimes as many as 80 cold starts before they go away. I had the same problem of finding someone to pull codes so I bought a code reader/eraser for $40 from Harbor Freight tool supply. It works great.
