I have a 99 GT vortech supercharged. My stock motor took a :poo: so now i was planning on getting a fresh rebuilt motor but with upgraded pistons and rods. My car was making 420whp before and i really just want it to stay reliable at around 450whp. Don't want more than that. Will upgraded pistons/rods give me the reliability to stay at 450whp safely for a long time, or are other modifications to shortblock needed?

Im guessing you put a window in the old block?

Pistons (decide what compression you want)
Rods
Moly rings
Bearings (Clevite and KING are good)

Factory cast crank will hold just fine but might need a polish. Whatever block you end up using, deck and hone the cylinders. Have rotating assembly properly balanced.

That should be it!
