Well since I purchased this cobra used a year and a half ago, everything so far that I have replaced has been stock. I am assumeing the battery is also. It takes a couple of seconds to finally turn over, maybe 4-5 sec. so I am looking into replaceing it with a new one. from reading the posts, optima seems to be the way to go. Red, yellow, size??????? no system right now, the extra weight makes my tires rub, and that is another thread in its self. Spend the extra cash and get one, which one. thanks, chris
I'm looking at friday to replace it hopefully. I checked the voltage at the terminals, and it showed 12 exactly, with an analog meter. same thing after sitting overnight. Still sound like the battery??

Battery is due for replacement.

Red is just for starting, never to be drained of juice. ( does not like to be recharged at all)

Yellow can be discharged and re-charged many time with out harm.
Thats why its called a deep cycle battery.

Thats what is planned for my rides, yellow top.
I run my E fan with the engine off.

Both are great battery's, never had a issue with my reds over the years.

Cost around $100 for the red and $150 up for the yellow tops.

IMOP the best battery on the market hands down.
