Tire Treadwall/aspect Sizes

So I have 245/40r18s for the back, and I have 245/45r17s that I want to put on the front. Will themail different side wall sizes make any difference? (40 vs 45)

I'm going to say no,no real noticeable difference.. really not talking more than an inch or so difference in height.. the width is what will be noticeable-that's a pretty skinny tire,stock wheels?

245/40/18 = 25.72" OD
245/45/17 = 25.68" OD

Close enough I wouldn't worry about it. Check the manufacturers specs for the true OD however as some manufacturers vary even when running standard sizes
