Drivetrain Toploader Into A Mustang I I

Has anyone done this, and will it work with a mustang II bell? I tore up my Rad 4 again, and came across an old 3 speed, which could be fun. I had one on those in a Comet Gt I had. It looks like a close fit with massaging, but not sure how the input shaft length, thickness, and splines will match.
The only other option for now is to find some gears, and patch this one up so i can kick it in and out of the garage for now.

I tried a Top loader many moons ago now. It wouldn't work in the II transmission tunnel. I tried cutting clearance in the floor board/tunnel for the linkages and had to remove material for the shifter mechanism. IMO, you're farther ahead locating a decent T5 and modding the car for that. It's been pretty well documented in a few locations as far as what to do and really isn't that hard. Depending on your choices, you can retain the II bell/clutch setup as well whereas I'm pretty sure you won't be able to with the Toploader.
