Transmission Questions

I have an 01 cobra with 8800 miles. It has an occasional clunk noise between first and second gear. Ford mechanic drove it with me and said that it was normal. Second question, It has a pro 50 short throw with a 4.10 gear. I sometimes have trouble getting it to go into first from neutral. Also sometimes it does it from neutral to reverse. Im wondering if anyone else has experienced this and could give me some input. I would greatly appreciate any help. BTW im not a gearhead so dummy it down for me.

I have the same problem. You might want to just tear it down and go through it step by step. Hopefully it ain't the tranny itself, but instead more of the little things like gear shims, clutch, driveshaft, axle bearings, etc............
Good luck man. I know thats not much help, but it really could be a number of things.
