What Size Stall?

I'd say at least 3000RPM, maybe even 3500RPM especially if the car is a heavier convertible or so.

F cam likes revs, so with an AOD, you really want to get up in the revs as soon as you can.

To be honest, with an AOD, I'd look for a cam that makes torque down low. An 86-88 speed density cam is great for this...but then you lose that cool sound.

I've always enjoyed a manual more than an automatic on the street/limited track duty. Full on race car...auto...but it's still not as fun. To build an AOD right,it costs considerable, but so does the manual. You could throw a good valve body/trans cooler and torque converter in and be happy. T5 swap isn't cheap if you add a lot of new parts...i.e. Clutch,flywheel,cable-quadrant,good shifter, etc.

Right up until you make decent power and realize that if the clutch wasn't slipping the input shaft would be snapping...

That's where I'm at.... can't dump the clutch, have to roll into the throttle and one miss shift and it's over....

Still alot of fun.
