Whining sound

OK, so I have my car back together and now I have this really strange whining sound..

It sounds like the alternator whine you'd get through your speakers or a centrifugal blower. It's outside the cab. It gets louder/higher pitched as the RPMs rise.

I popped the hood and it's actually harder to hear under the hood vs. inside the cab and driving the car.. But when I'm in the car you can definitely tell it's outside the car.. Strange I know..

However, it sounds like it's coming from the front of the engine..

I've checked the vacuum lines, swapped my idler pulleys out one a a time, and put in a different alternator.

It doesn't sound like the TOB because it does it with the clutch in/out and the clutch doesn't change the sound at all.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!!

I'm in the process of getting a stethoscope.. A buddy of mine at work has one.. If he doesn't have it tomorrow then I'll just go out and get one..

In the mean time, I warmed up the car (it's louder when warm) and then I took off the belt..

Still does it.. So, it's not any of the accessories or idlers..
