Electrical Wiring Woes....

Greetings,

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this.
I have a donor 1988LX Hatch 5.0, torque boxes are toast, subframe is shot. I got a 1989 LX Notch, no engine or manual tranny. Looks like it was at one point in its life a 2.3. I'm pulling the eng/tranny out of the donor and putting it into the 1989. While I am still at the start stages of this, I started working on the wiring currently in the 89. Power windows, wind sheild, radio, etc all power up, without the key! I figured "maybe" the ignition switch on the steering column was toast so replaced it, but still accessories are hot without the key. would this have anything to do with the fact that I don't have the EEC/wiring harness in it? Thinking that maybe someone bypassed the switch but looking at all of the wiring currently in the dash its buried deep in there. Anyone heard of this? Anyone know where a bypass would be put to do this so I can chase that down?
Seems I've traded off a straight suspension for electrical issues, which I am hoping is the lesser of two evils...

Thanks in advance,
-Joe
