My 88 GT is having starting problems. I filled it with gas and drove it probably 5 miles then it sat for an hour or 2. Then I went to start it again and it started dieseling, so I shut it off and it died by itself sfter about 30 seconds. Then it started right up fine after that. And hour later I started it and it dieseled again. At that point I took it home and it sat for another 2 hours. I went to start it again and the engine cranked briefly before the starter solenoid started smoking. I replaced the solenoid and had the alternator fixed and it passed. Alternator, battery, solenoid and starter are all brand new. The car only clicks when I go to start it. What happened??
