Interior and Upholstery Seatbelt issue

So I have a 96 vert with a hardtop the previous owner installed. When I got the car those rear panels in the back seat that house the stereo speakers we're not installed as well as the seat belt reels and retractors and for the life of me I can't figure out how the real and the retractor goes back on there's literally no threaded bolt holes where they will line up that I can find any help would be greatly appreciated as it looks like the seat belt hardware in a convertible is different than in a hardtop.

Interior and Upholstery Painting my plastic dash questions...

Going to paint my 83 ( blue ) dash black.. I thought about doing it in Graphite or very dark grey, but I want to keep it simple...
Its been 25 years since I did my Dodge parts and they came out very nice and still look like new...
#1 question.... It seems like I washed them with warmish water and dawn soap multiple times to remove any grease, dirt and Armor All.....
Again its been many years but I remember using some plastic prep ( spray can) to soften and prep the plastic.....
I want to say that I believe the paint store told me to just wipe the plastic down with lacquer thinner to prep it?? Has anyone done that????
#2.. Is the plastic paint ( like SEM) the best to use?? I see that Rust Oleum has some " plastic" paint also??
Whats every one used????
Thanks for any ideas here....

What's it Worth? 2014 California Special with Roush Phase 2 Kit

Hey all,

I’m more a chevy guy so I feel a bit out of place here and I have no idea what I am doing.

I’m trying to help my brother sell his mustang. I’m wondering if anybody here could give me an idea how to price it?

Car details:

  • 2 dr coupe
  • 98,000Km (61,000miles)
  • Automatic trans
  • Has a Roush phase 2 supercharger, professionally installed
  • Good condition – garage kept but was his daily driver, so it has a few minor scratches, typical interior wear etc….
  • Has headers and 4” straight pipes out the back.
  • Leather interior
  • Shaker sound system
Located in Calgary Canada.

If I’m forgetting any important details, please let me know. Any advice would be appreciated!

Live mode 6 misfire data?

Does anyone know of a scanner that I can purchase that will give me access to LIVE misfires on a 2004 ford mustang?

I bought a cheap $100 scanner that gives me mode 6 but problem is it doesn't track it live and when it shows a misfire in a cylinder I have no idea when that misfire was recorded.

I am chasing a very intermittent idle only shake that I believe to potentially be a misfire and I want to rule that out by getting live data. If when the shake happens and I can see that there are no live misfires then I can pursue other potential causes like engine mounts/harmonic balancer etc.

Drivetrain Clutch quadrant washers/spacers

So I pulled the whole interior out of the car including everything under the dash for resto and I noticed there was already an aluminum quadrant installed on the car. However it had plenty of washers on both the shafts.

I replaced the pedal rack and am now almost onto the reassembly stage and am not sure how many spacers need to be on each shaft. Anyone got any info on this? Another reason I’m asking is because when removing the pedal rack from the car the washers fell off and I just threw them back on and in no specific order

Brake Bleeding Trick

For those of you who fix your own
A plastic (or metal) master cylinder cap, can be drilled and used as a power brake bleeder
!/16 drill bit, drilled thru the cap and the rubber
Shop air (real light) pressure on top of the cap blowing slight pressure in the reservoir
Then crack all the lines and go to town
About 30 seconds of that and even the most ignorant Master Cylinder or HCU will be bled out
I learned this after / during the 4x4 Air Rooster MC recall (I replaced about a thousand master cylinders) on those
Great thing is you can walk away mid procedure and still be okay (the vehicle just continues to gravity bleed)
Good luck

Progress Thread Need help

So I just traded my 88 LX for 96 GT that is completely diisassembled. I just picked up a PI intake but I have a few questions.
The PI intake has what looks like coolant lines coming off of the crossover.
also im loading a picture of some type of sensor that I have no idea where it bolts to.
Is there any type of reference of the under hood routing of all the electrical connectors and vacuum hose routing ?
thanks for any help and happy thanksgiving!!!

Brakes Brake fluid flush

The brakes feel pretty mushy on my 92 gt . The car stops fine but I have to push the pedal a good amount for them to start working. Took a look at my brake fluid and it’s pretty brown. It probably hasn’t been changed in at least 5 years. Is there any harm in changing the fluid or should I go ahead and do it. Also what fluid is recommended. My car has a cobra disc brake swap 5 lug.

Wheel help for a 1994

Hi guys, recently got back to mustang ownership. the 94 GT I got has SVE wheels which I want to replace. I picked up the mustang 2000 to 2005 ford 5 spoke wheels. The SVE lugs do not work so I need to know what to buy for LUG size & taper (flat or tapered). I see american muscle has a set Black Acorn Lug Nut Kit; 3/4-Inch; Set of 20(79-14 Mustang) just want to know if these work with factory rims. I posted 2 photos the SVE wheel & the stock wheel. Thanks

Brakes Brake distribution valve question

Is the brake distribution valve mounted in the same place in all fox body years??
I need to purchase the correct new short lines that go from it to the Master Cylinder due to a :power booster change.
I " think" I can order the " V8 " booster lines in a newer ( my car is an 83) car if the distribution valve is the same one...
Changed from my pancake booster ( see in pic) to the longer smaller one , NOT a cobra booster.....
Thanks

Thinking about deleting the power steering in my 89

Hello all,

So I bought an 89 Fox a few months ago. It was an automatic and I plan on swapping that out with a T5. Along with this I was thinking about getting rid of the Power Steering and going with a Flaming River manual rack setup or equivalent and wanted to get some opinions on it. For people who have gotten a manual rack, how is it, how much of a pain is it to do slow turns. how is the sensitivity of it.

A little about my car plans as to know what im doing with it:

Car is NOT a daily driver but will be mainly driven on the street and sometime the strip. MAinly a weekend warrior.

car will eventually be turbo'd (if that matters)

Thanks for the opinions

Foxbody new edge swap help

Looking for some guidance on my fox build cobra swap. The heater box and dash vent are pretty far off. I can lower the dash with some modifications but then the center console won't align up. I can make spacers to make up the gap no issue. Just it being so far off wont help any ideas on what route to take? Has any one done this ?
