Progress Thread Pete is checking out these valve covers

Do they flicker with the pulse of the engine rpms ? If they do it could be too low of an idle not spinning the alternator fast enough. It could be a ground issue with at the engine block ( highly doubt ). Could be the amplifier in the trunk ( maybe ) but would go out when the bass hits. If your headlights do the same thing it could be the idle....the voltage regulator, a bad batt+ connection, a bad batt- connection...or your eyes blinking from being blinded by all dem lights.

Just plucking with ya. I really like the LEDs and the footwell are a plus for me. Saw the picks and was trying to figure out how I can get some lights in my foot wells. I just want them to come on when the door is open or the dome light is on. Guess I'd have to run the batt+ all the time and grounded by the door switch.

I've had a couple bad alternators from Advance over the years. When new sometimes the brushes have to kinda wear in. That wear in process should only take a couple minutes at most. Most alternators are tested before boxing them up.

This is a GM vehicle but the process is about the same. Do a ripple test.

Is there any way I can get excess oil out of my air conditioner. I put an oil charge and extra R12, and its not as good as before.Something I can do in the garage.

Florida lanai pet for fifteen years. Eastern Box Tortoise lives from Texas to Illinois. This critter eats everything that will go down its throat.

Don't feel bad, Pete. I spent my weekend cutting Brazilian Peppers instead of finishing my headlights. There's always Monday after work.

Cool turtle. I had plenty of those as a kid.

Just put on a semi emergency fan clutch 7 in. thermal........My old one was worn out from bad motor mounts. Barely spun and engine was runnihg hot. This new one is great. Giant wind goes thru the whole garage , and the sound is large. Wonder how many complain about overheat , and this is the culprit. Got this for twenty three bucks with Advanced points and five dollar coupon. Same one is forty three at LMR..Hayden unit...Happy again eleven mm wrench See those little tabs I made them with a big washer that I cut with a grinder...Works good for broken shroud where it screws in.

Just for the record my car is running like a top. Could even be a daily driver . Feels good to take twenty mile round trips to places on the weekends . My restore is working meaning none of my bolts are coming loose causing dire problems . For years I was a fuchup and did not follow thru.

Because it was a choice between Poly or these forty dollar solids .Need to be a little cheap now and then because I need lots of small stuff I read the reviews and took a chance. They ride nice , very little vibration. Whats poly one hundred forty . Not for me I got bills. Like I said before Im the sole money maker in my house.

After I put that fan clutch on my car runs much better. I think my other one was out of balance like somebody said on here. Super smooth rotation. Well worth it just the sound of power is cool. Just an update for the future person that has a thirty year old one.
