Can’t argue on the pix you posted. AMX and the Judge are top tier for sure!I swear.
Maybe I’m just too critical. Maybe it’s just the cars I deem cool enough to photograph aren’t so common.
I just walked around the venue…There are a Butt load of 67-69 Camaros, 55-57 Chevy’s, a stupid amount of pick ups from all eras. Easily 30 64-67 Chevy II’s, and A pretty decent collection of Mustangs through 95 ( yeah, they let em in). Old assed 100k dollar street rods from the 30’s and 40’s rolled in and out all day, as did scores of skanky assed rat rods
Yet,…..Did I bother to take a pic of any of them?
Nope.
If there was more than few of them here, they got passed by.
But…
There were a few that I found amazing and rare enough to catch.
Probably one of my favs, I’d own one of these in a heartbeat. American Motors AMX.
Original GTO Judge
This was supposed to show off what the venue backs up to except it’s badly backlit.
But again, 1972 Stage 1 Buick GS ( it’s the car I stole my hood scoop design from)
A 1972 Dodge Demon with enough rubber under it to stock a Condom factory with supplies for a year.
Several others went by me , as this cruise in is constantly in flux. There was a constant stream of cars rolling by where I was parked. If I was there to spectate? Then it would truly be a “spectacle”. And it is/was, don’t get me wrong,…it just seemed like there was always an endless stream of people stopping by with questions that needed answering.
Kate’s down here. For whatever reason. She doesn’t stay with me while I’m here, MOF she came, she sat for like a half hour, and listened to the stream of people ask me the same questions over and over again..
She says “ You love this sht don’t you?”
I say, “Just like a dog loves to be scratched behind his ear”.
The top color would be changed before I tried to resell it. It’s like the paint and interior people did not talk to each other, and the painter is color blind. It’s the start of the last day….I try to get here early to get a great place, given that the park is full of trees..200 year old Spanish Oak trees to be exact.
It’s not w/o a down side though..Despite the shade benefit, these things are dropping Little acorn thingy’s all day long.. They bing, pop, and bang off the cars all day long.
They aren’t big enough to do any harm it seems, as by later on this afternoon this thing will be jammed full of cars again.
But for now, there’s only the die hards..
And waaay back there,……under his very own tree….is this guy.
Whether or not he was a blow hard, I got given a number to a guy that tells me that when I’m ready to sell it, he was ready to buy it.
He asked if 100k would get it bought.
Yeah right.
When Kate was here yesterday for the whole 30 minutes she “ tolerated” this place, I had her register to win the annual give away car…
She says “ What makes you think I like that car?”
I don’t know, it’s a convertible,…..So you can show off your hotness?
“ How much is a car like this worth?” She asks.
I don’t know,…50-75k?
“ If I won it, I’d sell it in a heartbeat”
You and me both.
silver and red/ maroon go together, it’s the freakin flames that would have to go.The top color would be changed before I tried to resell it. It’s like the paint and interior people did not talk to each other, and the painter is color blind.
Flames are cool. The color of them do not coordinate with the silver. They do not go with the maroon. How hard would it have been to make red tips that worked?. I think silver does not show the chrome off as well as other colors or black.silver and red/ maroon go together, it’s the freakin flames that would have to go.
All really a moot point, not my car, not gonna win it, not gonna worry about it.
And you loved every minute of it, I’m sure! All that’s left to do is spend an evening with my hottie wife at what will undoubtedly be a 200.00 Dinner, have too much to drink, and hit the road tomorrow.
It was a good show. Nobody knows what a 2jz is, and that was the number one question I got asked, followed up with people wondering who made the car, ( brand) Then, when was a Cyclone ever in service, and if I did the work.
I would no sooner answer all of those questions, then have to turn around and do it all over again.
Big fun.
