My baby girl is rarely driven. 70k miles since i bought her in 2006. I had the water leak issue but I think its fixed ;) anyways been trying to do some maintenance to try and get her back in tip top shape. Im wondering about my suspension. Do my struts and shock need replaced after so long despite only 70k miles? I have eibach springs, a cai, changed the filter and cleaned the maf. A sct tune, do i need to update that too? I replaced the radiator fluid a few yrs ago around 65k. What do you think about steam cleaning engine.. bad or good? I live in the desert so dusty. She just needs a check up so not sure what to think about replacing. Check hoses, ect. Any thoughts?

Struts and Shocks "should" be fine. The SCT tune doesn't wear out, so it should need a refresh unless you add performance parts. Rad fluid every 5 years or 150,000 miles. Steam clean not needed, if water gets under the spark plug boots it will cause a misfire. Spark plugs should be replaced if they haven't been. Read about replacing them, they can be a challenge to get out if you don't take your time. Some people replace hoses and belts, but my 06 GT has 260,000 miles and still has the original belt and hoses. They still look good, though I would change them if I was going on a road trip. Not a bad idea to consider changing the transmission fluid and rear axle fluid, but not something you have to rush into.

I mostly agree with raceraj .....my opinion is like with any machine .....it just runs better if its clean and well lubricated.....and fresh fluids are frequently used .... I bought my 07 gt mustang new ....and it only has 27k on the clock .....but I've flushed the radiator like maybe six (6) times (if the fluid even gets a hint of discoloration it gets flushed) ....I change the oil (mostly based on seasons) but that's still like (4) times a year and I only put 2,000 miles a year on it (if that) ....I've changed the rear end gear oil ....and I'm getting set to flush the trans pretty soon.....but then I take the rear brakes apart to clean and detail the undercarriage.....I have a slight case of OCD when it comes to my cars ......the point is ....if you like your car ...and you plan on keeping it ...you can never do too much

I'll agree with chgovfk, you can't change any of the fluids too often. I would change the stuff I don't as much if I had more time. My 88 LX 5.0 got the treatment he is talking about (No kids then).
