Wiring loom woes

The PO of my ‘89 GT went a little crazy with wire cutters. On the passenger side kick panel he cut some wires and unplugged a group going into the rocker. Anyone have a picture of this area? I have a Ford wiring book by can’t make heads or tails of it. I have the colors written down so if anyone has a picture it would help. I would post a picture if I could figure it out.

Below text type box is a button labelled " Attach files " ...tap on it and it'll open a window to see your pics. Upper left corner theres a tri bar button. Click it and it opens other areas pictures may be. Click the picture and it'll start uploading. Once it goes to 100% it'll ask if thumbnail full image or delete...click full image. It'll populate into the text box and click post reply.

This is if done from a smart phone.

Pictures would really help.

Please post the wire colors with the solid color and stripe color along with the model year of your car. They help identify the circuit and its function. Do not depend on a photograph to do the job, since the camera and then the device the photo is viewed on can alter the color presentation. Clean the wires with some solvent before trying to identify them.

The wiring color codes are a clue to the wire function. A list of the colors is helpful along with the pin to color assignment. The connector shells always have a letter or number on the shell for each pin.
Example:
connector pin A= blue/white
connector pin B = red/green
Ford Factory wiring diagrams have a wire color to function table in the first few pages. The table is generic and is for all Ford products, not just Mustangs. For that reason, you need to think about what sort of options and equipment are in your car.
For example: If the table says wire color is for a power seat, you are looking at the wrong wire color/item type. Foxbody Mustangs didn't come with power seats, so you know that isn't what you want.

Ford changed the color for some wires in 91, so that's why the year model is important.

Also show an extra picture of the mating face side of the connector so that we can see the connector shape and how many pins are in the connector. That helps identify the circuit function since most of the connector shapes are unique to the circuit they serve.

That LOOKS like the C213 connector that got cut out. Do you have a green connector anywhere near the ECU? It should be part of the main harness. Also - Does it start? Because some of the C213 wires are for the fuel pump.

This is a ex race car. So that being said the PO took everything from the radiator to the rear axle. I got the perfect body with just the front suspension and steering. He cut a lot of the wiring out. This is part of it. No fuel tank or pump. No ecu or wiring for it in the car, but I do have it to install. So while I’m building an engine and gathering the rest of the parts to put it back on the street I thought I would try to sort out the wiring. I do have a ‘90 GT convertible parts car. But right now it’s at a different location so it’s hard to see if it has the plug I’m missing.

wow what an ahole... If it were me I would pull that main harness out and buy a good used 89 main harness to swap in it's place along with the ecu. If you plan on using the 90 wiring then you'll have to repin it all or swap the dash harness out for the 90 wiring as well.

Unless you're looking to have it be exactly O.E. or it's not in your budget. I would look into something like this: https://lmr.com/item/AAW-510547/Mustang-American-Autowire-Classic-Update-Wiring-Kit-87-89

Not a lot of good reasons to use a 30 year old harness that may or may not be properly wired in any particular spot.
