What’s your most painful Fox repair?

These cars are pretty easy, the clutch quadrant messed me up. If I had to do it again no problem. I fought that thing for two hours and it suddenly all came together. For some reason the lower control arms ate me up. Even the clutch wasnt that bad. I did the clutch two weeks after a knee replacement. Still full of stiches , and covered in grease. The secret was the hand full of nice yellow pain killers that I had everyday. Superman pushed it right up in there. Should of seen my grease covered stiches , and the nurse comes over to change the bandages

Heater cores are definitely not fun! Just replaced the one in the vert two weeks ago. Compared to doing one in a 2001 F150 it was a piece of cake though (done three of those!). Next in line for me would be adjusting door and quarter windows in a vert. Hated it!

I wouldn't call replacing the heater/evap core hard just a huge pita. I had to remove half the interior the dropped the entire dash, open the box up, put in new stuff, get it all lined up and back together without pinching anything, then put the interior back together. Anybody that wants to do that is crazy.

Frame rust. Yeah, that would definitely be way worse though.

my daily is an ‘02 F150 (just hit 100k). Please don’t tell me the heater core is in my future!

I have to say the strut tower/frame rail rot repair... which caused a domino effect... had to pull motor... which then caused me to have it rebuilt since it was out... ect ect..... and remove everything else... all new everything... lol... been over 6 years now... hopefully I will get to finally get to fire it up this spring... I'm also pulling the interiror, since I'm gong from porno red to black... so I pulled the dash... and also the heater/a/c box.. and putting in in heater core and evaporator... which... was all easy enough to get out... just have to re-install now.

I always found pulling a dash to be easy. Done it quite a few times in my car. I can have one completely torn out in an hour or so
I didn't find it that bad removing.... now... I'm am dreading re-installing it... trying to figure out where everything goes, were wires need to be ect... I think it's going to be more of a pain putting it back... (just have to plastic weld a crack. and then dye the red part black first).

The most painful is cowl replacement. There's nothing like having to go through all that because you forgot hood pins....or completely closing the hood. It's the only repair on a musstang that I've ever seen a grown man cry about.

Heater core is pita 1. Ciurrently steering rack is 2. Rust is tracking to be 3. Clutch quadrant I have not changed, just installed, removed and reinstalled a clutch pedal set several times.

Changing a fuse I ripped open the back of my hand 24 stiches. Definitely most painful. Everything else, heater core, pedals, …..just time consuming. I did cut a window in the firewall on my 86 4 banger on the 2nd heater core.

I haven't experienced a heater core replacement yet but humpin stock iron heads over the fender with no cover really sucks. Especially after my old ass back was shot from pulling all the other :poo: off the day before. Close second was wedging front springs in.
