The particle board expands and contracts with humidity changes. It should make for a wavy ceiling. A vapor barrier and R-something fiberglass under sheetrock or OSB will insulate better.

The walls are insulated with fiberglass insulation covered with 35 year old exterior grade 1/2 inch OSB that's glued and screwed to the studs. It's got a wax type layer that would need to be sanded off to paint. Contractor quoted 3.5k just for spraying the walls...no prep...no cielings. The wall would never be anywhere near smooth like it was. 1/4 inch sheet rock is cheap enough at 14.60 per 4 x 8. Only needed 23 of them. The center horizontal line, running around the garage, will be covered with trim after finishing. Corner trim around the ceiling / wall and in the corners.

Wavy would be better than chips of peeling OSB and the plywood texture. Garage is insulated and dry...with heat and, soon, AC.

That makes sense now. It will be much brighter when you are done.
OSB was too expensive to use as an interior panel 17 years ago in my last workshop. The knockdown texture, drywall, and insulation with window air and a ceiling mounted heater was nicer and more comfortable than too many houses and mobile homes in that town.

No car updates. I did add casters and a metal top to my work table. Made it all from shelf parts from gutting the garage.

The garage is a mess but clean up is on its way this weekend.

Had a guy come over that recommended ways to replace the windows. I'll price some stuff out and see if it's feasible. Right now there are no screens and they look like they haven't been opened in 30 years.

That’s a nice workstation. How thick is that metal, 1/4” ?

Well, you can't have people just running off before you're uh... finished with them. :O_o:

Still no car stuff going on.

The garage is coming together well. Walls are primed and painted. The trim is all cut and loosely installed on the windows. Need to pick up some more backer rod so I can caulk up the seams.

My favorite part of this project is the remodel of the 10 foot high open doorway to the addition. Added a screen door and even used scrap pieces of trim to fill in the door frame.

Still some small things to do. There's a " not so secret " secret in the reflection of the door glass. Thats the old air handler and outside unit from the house. Cleaning it up to get installed in the garage. New unit already installed in the house and working great. Brand new washer and dryer installed. I'd like to get new windows on the garage before winter. Maybe, a bathroom installed in the addition.

Dusty is sitting patiently waiting for attention right beside Scarlet Rose.

On wednesday, my middle son graduated high school and we had the viewing for one of my older brothers. He was 49 and buried Thursday. Ive been running nonstop all year long. If gas prices go up another buck im buying a camper and living at work during the week. I want a class C like this. Back end would get reinforced to pull a dolly or a small car trailer. This would be my home at work...and a great way to tow to shows, meets, and track events. Right now it would save me about 400 in fuel a month at 5 bucks a gallon. If it reaches above $6.00 I'm pulling the trigger. At that point it'll be paying for itself.

I decided to tape and mud the sheet rock. Wood was too expensive to use to cover the seams. It was 3- 4 weeks of sanding and spreading. It was all feathered out about 2 feet wide.

During this process I got the inlaws Jeep on the lift for new rear axle bearings.

Took Dusty out for a quick drive. Wanted to make sure the oil leak at the turbo oil return line was fixed. It is fixed

I fixed a boost leak at the intercooler discharge side. Took it out for a drive and blew the coupler off at the intake. Time to tighten that thing back up and do a datalog and an auto tune session. That might happen tomorrow.....maybe.

Got'er all fixed up and goddammit !!! The 90° oil filter fitting starting leaking after a couple spirited drives. Luckily, it didn't leak out while I was driving it hard. Didn't even notice until I went to raise it on the lift. I was met with a basketball sized oil puddle. One little spot where I had it parked and no oil trail. Oil pressure was constant while driving between 40 and 60 psi. Dodged that bullet but had to order a short filter so I can get to work on a customer's 05. :bang:

The wheels are off to get tires mounted...

Wheels are back. I've needed tires for 7 or 8 years. Smh. I'm so happy to finally have new ones. 235/40zr18 front and 265/35zr18 rear. Big improvement.

It's 100 degrees outside so we're chilling in the AC out in the garage.

Now that car is looking good with that five lug conversion. I wouldn't come out of that garage. Nice to be buffing out a car with ninty degrees out. Is that original paint, because if it is you should be able to get that car buffed to almost new. Mine is single stage with no clear
