    thanks. thats what i ended up doing and didnt post a follow up. the one i have is a bit snug as it bulges slighlty but it fits and doesnt come off.

    its definitely part of the pcv system but i can't find a part that matches that. the other end hooks up to the air inlet tube. i should note its a 1999 GT

    The best that I could come up with is: Napa Part NBH 9438 the excessive length I can trim down (11.7" -> 5/5") but the diameter might be an issue (1.48"). I measured the host that I have to be ~1" in diameter. That's 1" measured from the outside. :shrug:

    i would say the culprit probably lies in the EGR system. that CEL coming on and off is pretty common from Ford's EGR systems. at least in my experience

    regardless of personal opinion, cats would certainly be the cheaper route. change them and see what happens. then go the more expensive route if needed.
