    New member 2018 gt

I have a 2018 GT PP. I wouldn't bother with the splitter. Magnaflow for exhaust if your going to get one. CAI's are still really to new for the 2018's. Keep an eye on JLT, PMAS, Roush, and C&L. I beleive all require a tune as well to run properly or get any power from them.

Thanks for the response and I know what you mean by the stock tach...Mine was off 300 rpms but always shifted @ 5k on the stock tach.

    stock 88 mustang cam

Did you ever try shifting around 5k with the 3.55's? Or even lower 4800ish? Also did you try shifting before the line with the 4.10's (don't know what trans your running)? I know this doesn't apply to your question but just curious...

    electric fan brands

I have a Flex-A-Lite "Black Magic" fan (got a good deal on it) and thought it was a pretty easy install and reliable. The fan only runs if sitting more than 5 minutes but drops the temp rather quickly IMO. I also have a Powermaster 140 alternator. After hearing a few horror stories about...

Anyone else not liking short gears with their 5.0??

I wish I did 3.27's I have instead of 3.55's in my H/C/I 87GT with a TKO trans. It does depend on what size tires you will be running as well. I'm running around a 25" tall tire and it spins in 1st and 2nd and doesn't stay in 3rd that long either (aluminum flywheel and shifting at 6k rpms). But...

    Exhaust opinions wanted please....

I run Mac equals, Prochamber, and Magnaflow. Love the sound, nice when cruising and you can hear it when you get into it. MUFFLER SHOOTOUT: Results based on 5.0 Mustang Magazine December 2002 issue (page 55). Test car is a 90 Coupe with 370 HP and 11 second potential. A number of 66 pulls...

Tremec tranny install now its slow

I know my 87GT with H/C/I 3.55's spins in 1st and 2nd with my TKO and that's with an aluminum flywheel. My cousins stock H/C/I aluminum flywheel 89GT doesn't light them up but it does hook and go 3.08's (also TKO).

NEED HELP ASAP!! GOOD ADVICE ONLY

That is a nice kit but you might want to consider some other items as well. Put some subframe connectors on it if not already. Maybe U/L control arms, driveline items, etc.. If you can find someone to weld your subframes have them weld up the torque boxes as well at the same time. Making about...

    is it really this slow?

I would look for a low mileage used TKO setup. I know myself and my cousin both found some decent setups for under 2k. Also I noticed that you don't have your coolant lines (on throttle body) or your line from the valve covers to your throttle body. From what I have heard this isn't necessarily...

    is it really this slow?

I was running 14.6's@mid 96's mph stock with my 87GT 5 speed with 2.73's and 2.2 60' times. After a few small bolt-ons (Kirban FPR, A/C delete, Mac underdrive pullies, 140 Power Master Alt, Jacobs ignition, Mac 70mm TB/EGR, K&N filter, and Flex-a-lite electric fan, 2 1/4" Dyno-Max cat back) I...

    Anyone have this shifter?? (pic)

Get a shifter boot from 50resto.com and try to find a Pro 5.0 shifter. Much much smoother than the Hurst.

    3.73 made me slower?

I'm running the older TKO (Redline fluids) with Centerforce D/F clutch, aluminum flywheel/driveshaft, Pro 5.0 shifter, UPR 3pc quadrant setup, 3.55 gears in a 87GT. I'm probably only making 270-290 rwhp but really like this set-up. Shifts nice and smooth (I have only driven it about 500 miles...

    exhaust for foxbody?

I know you already got something but figured I would chime in. I would vote for Magnaflow (which is what I have). They post good dyno numbers and sound pretty good IMO. Not the best video but here it is. YouTube - Untitled 0002 . I wasn't trying to spin but my old trac-loc was gone and has...
