    Hydraulic Top Cylinders

Are old cores worth anything or should they just be tossed when replaced?

    Progress Thread 1967 Fastback Project

As the former owner of a '67 S-code GT fastback all I can say is that is awesome! Quoted the above because I think it would be poignant to place part of the rotted/rusted metal up on that wall too.

Have You Ever Taken The Car Apart And Cannot Find Something You Removed?

I had to make the part, just refused to buy an entire assembly and not use 95% of the kit. It works great for unlocking the trunk but it has to be turned both directions, looks like there's a small spring that goes around the shaft to "return" the key to a vertical position. Well yesterday I...

    Help Choosing Auto Transmission

Rbohm knows his stuff, listen to him. The thing I want to add is...if you choose AOD (I did) there's a lot of extra work (and some added expense beyond the tranny) compared to choosing a C4.

Have You Ever Taken The Car Apart And Cannot Find Something You Removed?

I know the answer is yes. I cannot find the little flat steel thingy that connects the trunk lock to the trunk latch. Been using a screw driver forever, now I need that thingy and cannot find it. Anyone have one they wanna sell? Application is a '67, do not think it matters what body but...

Questions About Custom Brake Lines On A 67

If you are going through the effort the best recommendation I have it to use stainless steel. Cost is higher, effort required is much higher, but longevity is off the charts compared the mild steel tubing they sell these days.

Has Anyone Tried Paint On Chrome ?

Back when I was really poor I used a can of "chrome" spray paint on an instrument bezel, results were less than spectacular. So I removed the paint with Oven Cleaner (eats the paint but not the plastic) and tried again, this time putting it on the oven itself (after paint not with the oven...

    Strengthening a 68 convertable frame?

Already mentioned but I'll second the nod on the Global West subframes, I lost no ground clearance (the 2.5-inch exhaust hangs lower) and they are very strong. I think it is a "love or hate" things but a weld-in 4-point rollbar will really help stiffen things up. Plus it gives you a way to have...

Progress Thread 68 Gt500kr Vert - Take Two

Looking good! I'm doing a Shelby-ish restomod on a '67 vert. I spent a year trying to find a paint/body shop and when I did I spent another year on the waiting list. But 8 months later I got the car back. I hope you did not have to deal with (pay for) much rust repairs...

Engine Please Look Over My Plans.

Overall I think it is a solid build, only things I'd mention are: Consider moving to a roller setup, now is the time since doing it after the build would be too much trouble for the benefit. 500cfm is definitely too small, but I'd say go for a 600 not a 750. I am not familiar with the GT40p...

    1967 Coupe Restoration

So here is what a factory shifter (2v-289 and C4) looked like on a 1967 with deluxe interior. You can clearly see the two "tabs" which held the selector panel inside the console. Another thing I should have thought of sooner...assuming you have the original doors, do they have holes drilled...

    1967 Coupe Restoration

I only owned one 1967 with a red interior, it was the deluxe interior and yes the dash pad was noticeably darker than any of the other trim. So I am going to say with a 90% certainty "yes". My issue is the visors, it could be the picture (do not think so) but those look like the wrong ones for...

    Bad Alt Regulator?

Some surging/dimming of your lights during starter operation sounds normal to me. I do not know if the original regulator was mechanical on the '69s but they were on the '67s. Obviously no idea if your replacement is solid state or not either but the original mechanical style is easy to identify...
