Can An Aod Be Fitted With An Electronic Control Module?

I'm getting sick and tired of the TV cable. I can get a TPS (throttle position sensor) for the carb from many places, just need to be able to send commands to transmission is all.

Hard to say without knowing the insides, but I feel safe saying it is between 260 and 347 cubes.

    disc conversion on 1968 mustang

Granadas are not going to be found in bone yards anymore. Acme-Autoparts will probably stop selling rotors and pads for them sometime soon too. Add to that the need to be able to stop alongside (behind) modern cars driven by idiots, and that this is your son we're talking about... I'd go...

Tuning The Tv Cable On An Aod

I have an idea of what may be my problem, wanted a second opinion or sanity check... So I am having trouble getting the idle down to 800RPM, I can get it there but it is rough with the vacuum gauge bouncing. At 900 it is better, at 1,000RPM it purrs. That is mostly due to a big cam but is also...

    Aod, Which Diff Ratio

Wheel size is less important to the math than tire size, I do not know the height of a 295X40X20, but I do know they are taller than my 245X45X17. In any case, with an AOD and a tire size (height) of 25 inches here's a break down of estimated RPM at 60mph. In 3rd gear 3.25:1 = 2,621 3.50:1=...

    67 console differences ?

Thanks for the update Denonito. What you said makes sense. I've also noted that the aftermarket consoles for sale these days say "will not fit 1967 with factory AC", I assume that is because they are not notched.

Build Thread Vulcan 1968 Sohc Mustang

Glad to see the project is back on the front burner! As awesome as the SOHC is/was it is not the most appropriate choice in a street car. All aloominum FE will be a beast, will be hard to paint it corporate blue though. Planning on a vintage upper-half or something aftermarket with EFI? I'm...

Tuning The Tv Cable On An Aod

So the car is: 1967 Mustang convertible C-code replaced by a built 351W (estimating 425hp/425tq) C4 replaced by a 1993 AOD from a 5.0 Mustang that has also been "built" 2,800RPM Stall Holley 750 using the Lokar bracket and TV cable Factory shifter (P-R-N-D-2-1) so I have no "1" on the AOD...

    1967 Rear End

That short question has some long answers, I wont go into details but hopefully I can help you narrow down your choices. There are three relatively easy to install rear ends that are worth having/doing...the 8-inch, the 9-inch and the 8.8. They all have advantages.. the 8 is cheap...

    351M Ideas

I had a 2 barrel 400M in a 1978 Bronco. I think FoMoCo put it wherever they had a heavy vehicle to move.

    What Cfm Needed?

I've got too much carb on a stout (420+ HP and TQ) 351W. My 750cfm had to be set pretty lean to get a good idle

Drivetrain Aod Tuning (tv Cable) Hints/tips

Well I guess i can answer my own question... 1st thing...once you have the correct PSI at warm idle and have adjusted the acorn onto the cable itself make no more corrections there. Instead use the fine tuning section towards the rear. Loosen the cable to cause earlier and softer shifts...

Drivetrain Aod Tuning (tv Cable) Hints/tips

So I'm doing short little test drives now, working out the bugs and am convinced my TV cable needs adjusting. Background: Built 351W 1993 AOD from a Mustang 2,800 RPM converter from TCI Deep transpan from TCI Auxilliary cooler out in front of radiator. Windsor Fox linkage kit Lokar cable kit...

    1966 Mustang Coupe Restomod

I see this amount of work done for a "customer" and always wonder what the price is. I understand why you may not want to tell us what he's paying but can you tell us how many hours you've billed at this point?

67 Ford Mustang Gt 390 Overheating Issue

I did not see it there's overflow or not but another common cause can be the spring pressure in the radiator cap fades over time. Of course that would result in blow off or over flow. I suspect the hotter cam is just that...hotter. I also second the advice of finding out what the temp actually...

Not really a picture, but I've finally gotten my idle to a reasonably low level, call is 850RPM. Still a tight engine, maybe an hour on it so far, this was taken today... https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=521E2742DBFD142F!22747&authkey=!AIvvmz89rTy3-CE&ithint=video%2cmp4

Tech Help! Very Rough Idle At Low Rpm...why? - Carb Guys

First off, thanks for the reply. I suspected a vacuum leak too but am at a loss as to where. I have the power booster running off the only manifold port I have. By the way the booster holds a vacuum for at least 10 minutes after engine shut off, so I'm sure that is not leaking. The port at the...
