Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

It's a recommended fuel octane, not the only thing the engine will run with. This is typical due to high compression. Simply click "quote" at the bottom right of the post you wish to have quoted. If you want to seperate areas, simply type [ quote ](no spaces) at the beginning and [/ quote...

Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

Take mine! :D That's the deal. I've read it numerous times on their website. The '05GTO doesn't have a better rating Bob(the '04 does). You knew that, but I had ta point'er out! :stick: The Mustang only "needs" 87 Octane. 91 is considered high octane in some places, and GM recommends that or...

Car and Driver Review- 05 Stang vs. 05 GTO

The slalom isn't important? Of course it is, and the GT easily won there as well as the skidpad. That said, you're looking at a glass half empty simply because you're biased. It wasn't reversed though... The Mustang won. :D Many people feel the same. That hasn't prevented millions from buying...

two 05 gt`s run at the track...

Easily acceptable to the common auto enthusiast. I won't even try to argue with it. Thanks. Again, I agree, although the '05GTO has the advantage every bit as much as the '04 Mach1 or more. Of course, thousands will disagree with both of us here. I think the DBW will be an issue for most '05...

two 05 gt`s run at the track...

SHOW ME! True, 13.18 and the same car ran 13.25 and NO others have made such a claim. I may not post on every web board available, but I read several of them. That's between you and him. I merely made the suggestion. Having done so, I hope your pathetic ET's are improved from anything a stock...

two 05 gt`s run at the track...

Got it on video? I hope you see the point here. I've read "estimates" already, btw. But nothing I've seen says it actually did run 12.9 thus far. Besides, we can't even buy one yet, or even go test drive one. We don't even have the actual MSRP yet. Topping off the conversation, this...

two 05 gt`s run at the track...

Yeah right. At least TRY to be rational, even if it's hard on your brain. Hollar loudly the FIRST time you see a stock LT1 Camaro run 13.7. I can't believe you'd even attempt such a stupid lie. Do you think you're dealing with yourself here? Exactly ONE(1) 2004 GTO ran 13.30 or better...

two 05 gt`s run at the track...

Believe what you want. I raced during all of the years they were produced, against likely more than 1,000 of them. I never saw a single non SS type even think about a 14.0, let alone a 13 anything. Oh and the 13.6 I mentioned came from a member of this board. Last I heard, he doesn't work for...

    '05 GT Handling

That's not true. How can "all new" be less different than "all new?" Besides, BMW used such a stiff, tight chassis in 95, there's no chance it's as much stronger now as the Mustangs new platform over the old. :)

New Stang tops out at 143?

Ford says the new MustangGT is limited at 150mph, or is it 155, whichever. I'd think it could get there without much trouble(maybe not the automatic version). No doubt, it has the necessary hp and gearing. I think it's a bad idea to test top speed on a public road, but many years ago, I did...

    White Smoke??!!

From the description, you've got one of 2 possibilities. #1, blown head gasket. #2, cracked head or block. Definitely check for coolant or water in the oil. That's your biggest sign that you need to get it fixed.

    '05 GT Handling

Well a quick thought... Add wider wheels and stickier, larger tires, plus IRS, walaaa. 55 series has little to do with the overall handling. They could use something else and had the same handling results.

two 05 gt`s run at the track...

I'm not trying to compare them and few here really are, as atested by the "apples to oranges" comments. Surely those ordered by Hertz, etc. are V6 models, but most "pre-orders" taken are likely V8's because the rental car companies run contract terms and get new cars each month, no matter the...

two 05 gt`s run at the track...

Not many people pre-order a V6 Mustang, and there's simply no question that not all were V6's. But no matter who buys them, nor the particular model, they're all Mustangs. It's a popular car today, as it has been since 1964.

    '05 GT Handling

Trying to get in the middle of a pissing match? It's not very intelligent to make rude comments simply to instigate others. It won't be long and someone will be poking that it handles better than your car... That's bound to get yer "goat!" :rlaugh:

    '05 GT Handling

I can't say for sure, as I don't own one either, but articles suggest a .88g or close(depending on the rag) skidpad result, along with great braking and overall balance, making it a good handling car. The advantage it has over other cars varies with differences in many areas. Overall, Ford...

    just ordered 05

I think the wait depends on the options you choose more than anything. You might get paperwork stating when it was built, and with which options, but it's not likely anything will say it was built for a specific person. Hope ya love it!

Anybody Raced an Chevrolet S10 with V8?

I wouldn't say that. First, it's hardly the only real difference. You don't simply have an HO engine by a cam swap from a standard 302. You don't gain 35hp from a cam swap alone in most cases, including that of the 302. There is a slew of different parts used for the HO engine. Heads, cam...

Anybody Raced an Chevrolet S10 with V8?

I watched my brothers 302HO(well built) Ranger run an S10 with a 400sbc in it. The result wasn't pretty for that S10. Same guy had one with a 383 that ran upper 11's, but he claimed 9's. Why is questionabe since we raced on the same track. At the time it was quicker than the Ranger...
