    GT 500 'vert tire pressures?

Anybody with a GT 500 'vert, what does the door sticker say for tire pressures? Thanks

    Mustang Corral?

Sorry to mention another Forum here, but does anybody know what's up with the Mustang Corral? Are they out of business? I haven't been able to open their site in weeks.

    3.73 or 4.10 on auto 06 gt

If you're not a racer, 3.73's are pretty good with an auto. I had them in my '96 and they worked well. I may put them in my '05. As Mr._Q said, they will keep the revs at cruise reasonably under control, but they will get you going quicker. Also, I didn't see any increase in gas consumption...

    Sound change from CAI?

When I had just a CAI in my GT, you could hear more sound from the air coming thru a larger filter and more open plenum. You hear it most at WOT. You won't hear much difference at traffic speed or cruising. The stock system being a closed plastic system is of course much quieter. One...

    22MPG?

What do you automatic guys normally get? I am going to probably go automatic on my next car (potentially an '05+ GT). I got 26-29.5mpg manually calculated mileage on a 3,300 mile 7-day trip in my 2000 Z28 6-speed... including a run with a Saleen and two Vipers (don't ask about the Vipers, it...

    3:73 Gears Installed

kmad61, glad to hear that you made out OK. I'm thinking of doing that same swap for my auto GT. What did you do about your speedo? Did you get it reset through a tuner?

    Taking care of my car

Just my 2 cents. My '96 GT is still in the family and it looks pretty much like it did when it was new. Runs the same as well. It gets the same care as my '05 which means religiously following the Ford service recommendations and using nothing but Motorcraft parts and fluids. And, like the...

So, My '2008' arrives in 3 weeks... Strut tower Brace?

+1 on the Strange STB. I've had one for almost a year now. It's well made, inexpensive and very light (but strong). Mine's painted black.

    Painted brake calipers

Tr7driver, I also used the Duplicolor kit. It worked well and I like the result. About prepping, I would say read, understand, and follow the instructions to the letter. They include a spray can of cleaner in the kit, but that should be followed up by sanding with a fine grit, and cleaning with...

    cabin air filter question

Thanks for sharing your experience Mark. Everything you do to your car for the very first time is tricky. I know, I have screwed up plenty. After you do it, it's like...Hey that's so easy and shouldn't take you more than 30 seconds. No, it's only after the first time that it takes 30 seconds...

    cabin air filter question

Mark, a lot depends on where you live. Virginia Beach might be fine, but out here in the eastern Washington desert (and a lot of other places in eastern Oregon, Nevada, California and Arizona) you would not believe what is in the air. Everybody has allergies out here. And it doesn't help to...

Installed Ford GTA axle-back, uh oh!

Give the dealer a try. It's a good way to find out if he is going to work with you or against you. If he fixes the bolts under warranty, keep going back there. He's one of the good guys. The worst that can happen is that he'll fix the problem and charge you. That's not too terrible, in my...

    s197 Convertible guys...in here!

We don't get much rain out here in the eastern Washington desert, but when it does, it comes down hard. This is my second Mustang 'vert, both with vinyl tops ('96 and '05). Neither one has leaked a drop. Your car should be fixed under warranty. Vinyl top or cloth top, there should be no...

My Color and White Face Gauges

I've got the MyColor dash and I used USSpeedo gauge faces. I think the web address is usspeedo.com. They work just fine. My only small complaint is that the icon for the high beams is a little bright. Other than that, they look really good, in my opinion.

    cabin air filter question

I changed mine out at 9000 mi. and it was pretty dirty. But, I live out in the boonies of eastern Washington State. We are not the Evergreen part of the state. The east side is a desert and when the wind blows, it blows around a lot of dust.

    lil love for the shorties

Mhankskii, you know you've got to take manufacturer's claims with a grain of salt. Well, maybe with a lot of salt. But, you could get some gain from the shorty headers. I had FRPP shorty headers on my '96, but I can't say they did much by themselves. When they were combined with a Bassani...

    05 GT problems

CEL is Check Engine Light. And, yes, get yourself an SCT or Diablosport tuner and have it set up by a reputable expert. That should take care of your problems and give you more power. I think a lot of folks have had good luck with Doug of Bamachips. I'm sure you can find his website with a...

    Valve covers

Warlock, I think you are on the right track. That was one of the first things I thought of doing with my cam covers. I did use a little Flitz in one spot and it shined up pretty well in the area I did. However, I finally did break down and got the FRPP covers in chrome. Expensive, but pretty.

How to clean filter on Ford Racing cold air kit?

I'm sure Ford has their own cleaner and oil, but if you have the K&N cleaning kit I would use it. I have a CAI from aFe and it has a green colored filter, but all these things work on the same principle. The oil film on the fibers of the filter traps the dust particles. So, like any filter...

How to change fog light bulb

To get a little more clearance, take a look with a flashlight. There are several barb connectors molded into the grille back. You need to push them inward, I believe, and then they will allow the grille to be pushed forward a little more. I couldn't get my hands in there without doing that...
