Anyone use RPM II intake manifold?

Just looking for some feedback on the manifold. I have a 306 with ported Performer RPM's, the intake side is a 1250 felpro which Edelbrock says the RPM II intake is a 1250 as well. Thanks in advance, Randy.

Will i need a spring compressor tool?

I generally pull lowered coils without a compressor, but very carefully. To be safe, you may consider attaching it for safety sake.

Got torque boxes welded and uca's and lca's, now its noisy

If it is a howl, more than likely it is the gear setup. I would check the pinion angle as well.

    Possibly the dumbest question....

You can either use your lug wrench and place it under the tensioner and press down, which releases the pressure and allows you to take the belt off. OR you can put a socket or wrench on the pulley bolt and push down and that will also relieve the pressure. You'll get it.

Best cam for a stock stang?

I doubt it is the cam also, more than likely a valvetrain or valve-guide issue. In my experience, a Crane 2031 w/ 1.7 rr worked quite well on my friends 92 LX. The heads were stock, just new guides and valve job and new Crane valve-springs that come with the kit were installed. The car with...

    Looking for headlamps

The adjusting plates are black, and the headlights pop into them, there are clips on the tops of the plates that hold the headlight in. If you happened to break one, you will need to get a new one.

Pull motor or jack it up?

You can replace it from underneath. You might unbolt the motor mounts and pull the motor up a bit for clearance. I did it years ago before tubular K-members and it sucked, but you should have room to get to it.

    347 stroker

I built a 347 assembly from DSS for my friend and it doesn't burn much oil at all. I had the block torque-plate honed, make sure the rings seat well and you should be good. His car is a '93 Cobra with iron Dart heads and Holley intake, it runs low 12's on Nittos.

    Rising Temps, and no heat.......

If your coolant level is low, when the thermostat opens the level in the intake drops a bit. The sensor which is in the intake will read high due to hot air and not coolant. I would check the coolant level and burp the system to get all the air out.

Can a Trans Am be that fast stock?

I had an '01 SS with SLP exhaust and lid with a 6 speed, the car with stock tires ran 12.90 @ 110. I don't personally think they are slow IMO.

Brand new fiberglass hood, STUCK CLOSED

You can also loosen the two 8mm bolts that hold the latch to the front support. You can get it from underneath, reach up in front of the radiator and you can get them with a ratchet wrench or a regular wrench. The latch may be off to one side. When you closed the hood did you notice it...

    Anyone use gapless rings?

My gapless rings seated fine and the car ran perfect. It was a blower car and had very little crankcase pressure, I would recommend them for a forced induction car.

Anyone have instructions to what is needed to moddify the stock crossmember for tko?

You can cut the welds on the x-member, move it rearward and re-weld it. This keeps the stock bracket location on the frame. I did it on one of my cars, but bought the HPM tremec cross member for my coupe. It is a nice piece and you may want to consider getting one.

    No start on 93 Cobra

I have had a coil break down when the car gets up to temp. But in that instance, the car would actually shut off driving down the road and not re-start until it cooled. You can check it out though to make sure.

Will 8to1 Compression Pistons Kill my Power?

9:1 compression is a good choice if you are using head studs and good head gaskets. I run 15-20 lbs. of boost with my built stock block and I have 9.25:1 compression with no problems. Just make sure you tune it correctly and keep an eye on timing and the plugs. I run this car on the street...
