If you could post a pic I may be able to give you some better direction. I totally remember how much of a pain this was for me before I learned of those little tricks I mentioned.
I also had this problem as I have a BBF so it's a tight fit in there. Depending on how close the shaft is to the header, you may have to ding the header to get it to clear. Your next option is to play with the angle of your steering column by using washers to space it down inside the car...
Did you have to go with a heavier duty front spring? Did you have to beat on the body to get the headers/transmission to fit properly? Is it much of a problem getting to plugs?
I'm currently considering a 514 crate motor for my 87 notch. My first choice was a 408. I'm continually told a big block could hinder the performance due to weight issues. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
I'm running the aeromotive system myself and was wondering if you took any pics when you did yours. If so could you please post or email to [email protected]
You can get the top motor and cylinders for much less than $900.00 from ebay. In fact, I bough a motor and both cylinders for around $100 from one of our fellow stangnet members. My top works great now.
As for 1/4 mile times stock, I can't help ya.
Water temp: front of lower intake where the stock sensor is. Move the stock sensor to the rear of the lower intake so that you won't have a dead gauge in your cluster.
Oil line: Go to the hardware store and get yourself a t-fitting and use the oil sensor located near your oil filter.
Hope...
Anyone know where I can find detailed instructions on how to swap an instrument cluster from a 91-93 into an 87. I already have the wiring diagram but I'd like some better instructions. Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks
I just did the same thing and my rockers are a bit noisy. I'm going to give them a chance before I re-adjust. Good job.
What kind of numbers are you hoping for?
I sure wish someone had told me this. Both times I failed to use a sealer on those bolts. I have no desire to go through this again but what the hell, it's winter time.
