Which would be better in the long run? Just buying a new C4 or having the old, original, leaky, clunky, sloppy shifting C4 rebuilt which has been rebuilt twice already in the last 10 years.
It's a '67 FB, 289 with a Compcam, Edelbrock Performer manifold, and Edelbrock 600 CFM.
Air shocks are great if you treat them right. Double bushing each end and never go beyond 50lbs. Have done it to mustangs, mavericks, vans, etc. and never had a problem after years of use. It is the people that put 90+lbs in them that ruin things. If you do that, you may as well weld steel rods...
My '67 FB was "droopy" in the rear so I installed air shocks with a double set of bushings at each end of the shocks and also installed a 3/4 in rear anti- sway bar. Now I can have it set level or raise it a couple of inches.
'67 FB, 289, Holley 600, mild CompCam, headers. Set timing approx.12-15, runs like crap(especially under load and higher rpm's), set timing around 30, runs great. Question is "has the timing chain slipped a tooth or so"? Any insights?
Just bought a new PC and when I figure it all out I will try to post some pic's. Probably in a week or so. Going to try to make it to the SAAC Show and Go in Dearborn this weekend. Maybe I can get some good pic's there.
Anyone know where a good place is to find the standard factory gauges (temp, fuel, volts, etc.)? Have a '67 that needs a few but can't seem to find any.
