Considering a 1987 mustang gt I need advice

For sure ask for documentation on the engine rebuild-some guys will just clean and paint the motor and claim it was rebuilt. Also emissions repairs can be very expensive and you don't get any fun for your money.

    Help me choose new wheels

I put the black Bullitts on my white GT, like the contrast, will add some more black later probably. Fit is great, price is good, but they seem pretty heavy.

Engine Troubles....Fix my current or get a new one?

Fix it-that other one sounds too cheap and there must be a reason for that.

Looks like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down

    FRPP Headers

I would only do shorties if you live in a strict emissions area that will bust you for long headers. The shorties are not even legal here but they usually don't notice them.

    1980 4.2 V8 (255) Free cheap hp ideas?

Worse than that-1980-81 cars that came with the 255 and auto had a 2.26:1 gear ratio with a 7.5 inch rear. Ignore the weak engine and put in a decent 8.8 you will be happy later.

A malfunction in the EGR system can cause this.

    winter tires?

I have been running Blizzaks here in Colorado for a few years now and have been happy with them. I would recomend snow tires on all four wheels so you can stop and steer as well as get the car moving. I just put them on my stock wheels and bought some Ford Racing Bullitts for my summer tires...

I went to the track for the first time

I would try to sort out the traction issues first. This would give you a better baseline to judge the effect of future improvements. Good luck at the track!

    Engine missing, need help!

Evaporative Emissions Contol System (EECS) is a charcoal filled canister attached to the fuel tank and intake by hoses and a canister purge valve. Poor idle, stalling, and poor driveability can be caused by an inoperative purge valve, damaged canister, split or cracked hoses or mis-connected...

whistling sound coming from the TB area ?

A vacuum leak will usually give you an eratic idle and low speed surging. If the car runs fine I would not worry about it.

    Ceramic vs Chrome Headers

All true! And given what a pain it is to replace headers on a 4.6 car I would definitely get the ceramic coating for longevity. Even with a lift these header installs are an ordeal.

66 mustang project v6 to v8 fuel injection

I would go with quality aftermarket parts for disc brakes. They are a critical safety as well as performance item, and as 66fastback said the stock parts are not very durable.

Debating changing spark plugs in 98 GT

If you have an air compressor, spray air into the plug wells before removing them to dislodge any sand or dirt so it won't fall down into your plug holes.

    Parts you regret buying?

Underdrive pulleys. After I read in Sean Hyland's 4.6 Liter Ford Engines that some can create vibrations that cause the oil pump to fail I have been afraid to install them.
