    Need help picking a carb!

650 should be fine. Are you haveing problems with it now? (besides the crack) You can down jet most holley's if needed and adjust just about every aspect of them if needed. Some you can even just get a new body for them, and transfer the parts from your old one. (easier to get a new one) I...

Catalytic converters welded onto a H-pipe

When I got my car it had straight pipes with an H off the headers. I tryed to get a pair welded in and ran into problems. The biggest one was, there was no room. The regular straight cats from magnaflow wouldnt clear the frame/floor boards. By the collectors was tight, and by the drive shaft...

Finally got the bread for some upgrades!!!...Advice please.

Leaks definitely Suck. Im chasing an oil leak right now. I never have luck with valve cover gaskets. A bit of black smoke on an older car when floored is almost normal. Its just not burning fully. Maybe a Full tune up should be your first step, before heads or something big, hehe.

    Cluster problems

Sorry, just got here Sounds like you already have the best ideas about your problems. New speedo cable, and new senders for the fuel level and oil pressure. Thats what i would look into first. Personally, i dont think they are related, just real bad timing.

pulls hard part throttle, power drops at WOT

Im not totally an expert on EFI systems yet. Im wondering if there is a vacuum leak somewhere. The words Vacuum advance came to mind, but i was thinking more along the lines of the throttle body, not the distributor. In an old carb, we would check the butterflys/choke linkage/float. (i am so...

Finally got the bread for some upgrades!!!...Advice please.

Sounds like you already have all your bases covered. If your budget is only 3k, I think your second idea is best. You would be tight no matter wich way you go. A good blower is about 1800+/-, then everything else needed Good Heads are 1400+/- then the parts for them. I would do Cam...

    What size spark plug wires?

Bigger the Better I always think :) Installed the 9mm set on mine recently. Works great. And the Blue dont look bad eather :) I had to get a good set of dividers for them, the big wires flop all over other wise. 8's would work fine too if there is a cost difference. Depending how for down...

pulls hard part throttle, power drops at WOT

For a second opinion, Hes right, its Bogging. It cant handle that much Air or Fuel, or both. It needs some major adjustments. You first need to know if it needs more fuel, or less. Check the plugs for a hint after stomping on it a bit. If your Old man can drive behind you, he May see some...

    89 mustang supercharged??

It Mainly depends on the engine your planning on useing. How tired is it? What has already been done? If the engine is ok, then start from the block up, and get bigger everything. Intake, Throttle body, Cold air, heads would be nice, mild cam, roller rockers 1.5/1.6/1.7 depending, headers...

    My night (a little funny)

There is always one in the neighborhood. Had a 69', neighbor always called the cops, One winter day, they came with a Decibel meter, They came to tell me, the scraping of the ice on the window was louder then the car idleing :) They had a cop posted at my house for a couple weeks. The...

    rookie with a few questions

700rwhp? And Turbo? Doubt it, Highly If John Force was Towing him down the track, Maybe! If money is no object, buy a good short block and go from there. Combinations are very objective, but the usual, heads, cams, lifters, valve job, intake, supercharger cooler, exaust, strange rear end...

Windows going down but not up 100% of the time

Checking wires is good, checking the batery is better. Cleaning the contacts is easy. Pull the Armrest, Unscrew the switch Pod, Gently pull out the switch it self from the pod, straight out, With a small flat blade screw driver, Again gently pry open the snaps, while prying the case off...

    serious wiring help needed

IF your going Carburated, you Can buy a brand new harness from a couple different companies, Painless being just one. I'm Sure there are several wires in that cluster that you wont need, but, its hard to say "Yank Out The Green One" because there may be 3 of them. AutoZone has some diagrams on...

    Dash instrument cluster/console

The Instrument gauge cluster itself, has (i think) 6 (maybe 8) torquex screws, and the bezel (thing that holds light switches) has 2 up on top, by the window, and 2 underneath that go to the dash frame. Unless some of the holes or ears have broken off, it shouldn't be hard to tighten or replace...

    turn signal

You were right, it normally means a bad light bulb. Did you look at the bulbs, or just turn them on to check them? Some times the filaments are bad and work off and on. I dont think the relay would be bad, but thats easy enough and cheap enough to replace.

turn signals / defrost / hardarzd lights issue

There was a recall on your Ignition switch. If it hasnt been done before, and they CAN still do it, that would be free. I dont think thats it. First, of course, check the fuses. second, the defrost and hazard are on the same switch, a loose wire there could do it. The turn signals, could be...

Completely new wiring and headlight problem

Two bad switches would be even bad luck for me, and if it wasnt for bad luck i would have no luck at all, hehe Try sqirting it with some contact cleaner before trying to buy a 3rd. Its just odd that 2 would go, or be bad. (unless something is being melted inside maybe?) I dont have much in...

Completely new wiring and headlight problem

Dosent sound like the switch, sounds like a bad wire, or connection. Check the power on the contacts in side the plug, and then check for continuity for the switch, hitting the contacts with a multimeter when switched into the on position. It will show a circuit if it works, nothing if bad...
