    2.3T compression

well, one rule of thumb is that all the #'s be within 10% of each other which those definitely are. why'd you do a compression check?? having problems still?? I'm pretty sure I'm way off but I think I remember the #'s as supposed to be either in the 180's or right at 200 or so. but like...

88 SVO motor, adjusting boost level

well at least with the custom harness as the only swap and suddenly no problems, you know it was a wiring problem and not something else. yeah, the t3's on these cars are decently loud with/without the factory silencer on them. much louder than say a 1.8t jetta :p

88 SVO motor, adjusting boost level

I take it you got your wiring problems worked out?? the needle wiggling at steady boost is usually wastegate associated. probably the diaphram in it is going out or the hose has a leak. 20psi isnt bad for the engine but it's closing in on the max of the turbo. As long as you dont hear...

    mad spool

just go rent a pulley puller from autozone or advance. get the one that looks like a crab claw thingy. put the bolt back in a little bit of the way to use as leverage and start cranking down on the puller and the pulley should pop loose. I like to put some axle grease on the crankshaft...

Anyone know where I can find an instrument cluster wiring diagram?

autozone should have it in the repair section on their site. just put your cars info in there and do a little digging around in the repair section.

Great, I'm in a heap of trouble now....

I actually dont mind changing the heater core out in the fox body mustangs I get. But I guess that's mainly because I use that time to also go through the dash harness and replace all the seals, etc in the heater box and clean all the built up crud out of it and such. I hate hacked up...

Anyone interested in a P/S pump tutorial with pics?

mine was 7.99 at autozone :p though it only comes in a plastic j-hook holder  changing the p/s pump shouldnt need a write-up lol. You just remove the belt, pull the pulley with the puller, unbolt the pump, change it and follow the reverse procedure. anyone that needs a write-up...

    Turbo GT, SVO differences

the intercooler obviously helps but the computer is where most of the kick comes from. better timing/fuel maps. oh and um....also, your car has the inline intake with the small vam and 30lb/hr injectors. They changed to the square intake, large vam, and 36lb/hr injectors for the later cars...

    Cheapest way for 5-lugs?

oh yeah! forgot about that until you said that. The spindle bearings inside the ranger rotors didnt fit the mustang spindles when I did mine. I just re-used the bearings from my mustang's rotors inside the ranger rotors and it worked just fine.:nice:

    Cheapest way for 5-lugs?

yeah, you pop off the center cover and pull out the pin in the middle of the diff and then push the axles in, pull out the clips, and slip the axles out of the housing. though, if you're at the junkyard and the retainer pin's little bolt doesn come out easy, I'd move on to another rearend...

    Cheapest way for 5-lugs?

the absolute cheapest way to get 5-lug is to go to your local u-pull and pull the front 5-lug rotors off of a 83-95 2.3 ranger as well as the axle/hub from out back (get both hubs if they're there in good shape so you'll know you've got a matched pair), then if there's no other 2.3 rangers, just...

    The SN65 project car

which bone yard did you call for the wheel?? might give these guys a call, pretty good chance they have what you need. recently changed their name I guess but they used to be called mustang parts specialists. I've used them a few times with good results. http://www.mpsautosalvage.com/

    Front seats

sounds like the latch spring is broken or the latch mechanism is frozen. If you "cared" much, you could pull out your seat and take it all apart to get at the latch mechanism and try to repair it but it's pretty damn hard to fix it once it freezes. It's put together with a huge rivet type...
