    Temp sending unit can be put in the block drain plug (just above oil pan in block in cylinder #8 area). Oil sending unit can be put in the plugged hole beneath where your oil pressure sending unit is (unit under the oil filter area).

    The only one I know of is from the driver side(left side) motor mount to the frame behind the left front tire. I've never seen any other grounds other than these. Have you taken the alternator back to the store and had them check to make sure it's good? I've seen bad alternators off the shelf.

    More than likely, you found your problem with that wire. There are two grounds near the battery, on the radiator support. The other ground is from the driver side motor mount to the frame.

    Did you check your transmission fluid level on the dipstick? If its low, add and see if that helps. If its good, your transmission will need further diagnosis. Mine just went bad and I'm in the process of replacing it. How many miles on you Stang?
