    I had the same problem I have long tubes on my car and after 2 clutch cables in a little over a year and I took some heat shield tape and wrapped the clutch cable from the bracket on the framerail to the bellhousing.     thanks for the info. To be honest I didnt really consider converting a regular 4-banger. My Gt gets 26 mpg on the highway with a stroker and trick flow top end with 3:73 gears thanks in large part to my 6-speed I'm sure.

    I have a question to add to this what are your opinions on the suspension being loaded or not when welding in subframe connectors? I've done it both ways and didn't notice a difference in the results.
