mustangs plus shelby gt350 hood. couple questions . . .

At full price, I would stay away from Mustangs Plus. I posted my past experiences with may GT350 hood here: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=716142&highlight=hood+fiberglass But in hind sight, it was a good experience learning how to fiberglass.

Some 43 year old pics of my car

Great to see the old pics. :nice: With the old pics, do you know what years are represented (curious to see what mods occurred with what year)?

    Drive line /9 inch help

It does seem odd the shop need a yoke to make a driveline. All they need to know is the u-joint size itself and the length for your application. As others have stated, you can remove the yoke, but if your rearend is running a crush sleeve you will have to match the original torque setting...

    Axle Decode (Ultrastang HELP?!)

Shipping was expensive for me as I live across country (at least that is what UPS thinks) from Moser = $49.00. I did request my original axles back and they sent them. I forget how much it was to ship back, but it was cheaper than sending it to them.

    Axle Decode (Ultrastang HELP?!)

When I ordered my custom axles from Moser, I just sent them my old 9" big bearing axles to limit confusion. Once they received the axles they call to confirm what I wanted and stuck with there two day turnaround promise.

    8 inch axle removal

IMO the stubborn part of removing axles is not the splines, but breaking the crap found around the axle bearings. If your splines are stuck to the carrier I would check the condition of the splines as a precaution.

    9 inch questions

Ultrastang, just curious about these cases...I've heard/read different opinions about these cases. They do contain the extra webbing like the later nodular cases, but are weaker than later non-nodular cases (e.g. C7XX). What exactly is the weak part about these cases as compared to other Ford...

    Considering rear end change

+2 on the TrueTrac. I've upgraded all my 9" Trac Loks to non-clutch type carriers. Currently using the TrueTrac on a 352 (302 stroked). No noise whatsoever. My other Mustang will get the Detroit "soft" locker to try. Dennis112 on this site uses a TrueTrac behind a stroked 351 with...

    Oil for your Rear End

From my understanding, the "break-in" period for rear ends is a few heat up and cool down periods (under light load conditions). My Richmond and TrueTrac was done breaking-in within a couple of hours with Royal Purple. For a 9" rear end you will need approx. 2.5-3 quarts (depending on a...

Reusing Original Ford Ring and Pinion Sets

I have three sets of original Ford 3.50:1 ring and pinion sets. Are these worth using again? Are they worth anything if I want to sell them? Two are clean and one has some surface rust.

T5 Spacer or T5 Bellhousing Swap?

So which is generally preferred with a T5z swap in an early Mustang? I leaning towards the spacer because I have recently upgraded my clutch and pressure plate and have a Lakewood scattershield, but if switching to the newer bellhousing is preferred I will research it more. To install the...

    New "KNIGHT RIDER" article

Both cars are bad-ass! I think it would be cool to own a car you can drive around town to pick up a burger and also hang with the big boys at a NHRA Top Fuel Dragster event. You can also comment to your fellow racers that you only need a little more than 12' to stop after the traps while...

    BAD vibration!

Generally a 28 oz imbalance flywheel for the years listed. Best to check damper and/or old flex plate to validate 28 oz imbalance. Typically these engines should be balanced with the crank, rods, pistons, rings, damper, flywheel, clutch and pressure plate as one rotating mass. Tossing a...

    primer for 66

I believe it was a PPG red oxide primer (PPG DP74 equivalent today). This is an epoxy primer, but must of been an enamel back in the day. Best to check a concours forum.

    1966 2V 4SPD

I think the back will be fine, but let us know how close that front tire is to the fender after you lower it. Also, rolled lip or not on the fender? I will be upgrading to 17 on my '66 and like to hear and see how different configurations work. Dodgestang's site has a lot of good info.
