    When it's hot out...

Thanks. That was a very good explaination. I understand better now.

    When it's hot out...

I've had older cars that didn't seem to do this. This just happens when the outside air is hot. If this is normal for the newer computer controlled engines, I would like to know what purpose it serves.

    When it's hot out...

I have a 2002 Mustang GT. When it's above 90 degrees out my car seems sluggish. Acceleration seems to take a lot longer. Is this normal? I feel like I lose 100hp. When it's cool out, it's just the opposite.

    cooling problem!

Could it be that the heater core is plugged? If there is no flow though the heater core, it would blow cool air and it would cause the car to overheat at the same time.

What's the best catback and mid-pipes for the buck?

I just ordered a magnaflow catback for my 2002 Mustang GT. I've never found any below $469 but at that site, it only cost $379. Thanks for the tip! :)

    Overheating

What about the heater core? Could that possibly cause overheating if it's plugged? I'm guessing not but thought I'd ask. Sounds like you've tried everything else but that. Turn on your heater when your car is warmed up and see if the air is REALLY hot. If it is, then this wouldn't be the problem.

I have a 2002 GT. You CANNOT shift into first until you are basically at a stop. This is normal! The first gear ratio is SO low geared that if you tried to shift into first at even 10 miles an hour, you would probably eventually foo-bar the transmission! I have to be under 10mph before I even...

It's unfortunate that some dealers are unwilling to fix these. I think it should be classified as a recall so that they have to fix them. I was lucky though, and my dealer was willing to fix it after the TSB came out.

Mine is shifting GREAT since the fix. It has been about 30 at night and before if it got below 50, it would shift like crap.

So you sued and won and still didn't get it fixed right. That's pretty bad.

I had the transmission fixed with the TSB that is out, and it's been about 30 degrees out the last few mornings where I live and my 2002 Mustang GT is shifting like butter. :) I just wish I could get the clunk noise from the rear end fixed but I guess that isn't going to happen. There is a TSB...

Just wait... the 05's will have problems also. :rlaugh: If I would have known the problems I was going to have with the transmission, and the BS I had to go though to get it fixed, I would have just got the automatic. This was my first manual and will definately be my last.

Yeah, that's probably why so many dealers are unwilling to fix it even though they get reimbursed for the parts. I was lucky with my dealer. The service manager actually called me letting me know there was finally a TSB on it and to bring it in. They was probably tired of me calling in...

    Official Tremec 3650 Issues Thread

They are saying it doesn't affect every car? It affects every Mustang from 2001 to 2003 with the 3650 transmission. They probably don't own a Mustang and wouldn't know a good shift from a bad one! I would maybe try another dealer or go back there and let them know you want it fixed NOW and don't...
