    Most Mustangs top out in 4th gear. 5th is only for a gas saving overdrive.

    Was the original owner a woman named Toni from Kansas? If so, that was a nice car. If I didn't have my car already, I would have bought it myself. I don't know the recent history, but props to a car with good mods. P.S. The baby race seat she used to have in the back was kick ass.

    From what I understand, the Super Sports are lower than the Race springs, by a little less than 1/2".

    The 96-99s had the T-45. The 01 has the T3650. Tremec made the T-45 under liscense from Borg-Warner starting in '99, but if that was the difference, everyone with a 99 would have problems installing a new shifter.

    I got a deal on a Hurst Billet shifter from a 98 Cobra with about 2k on it. I attempt to put it on my 99 last night. It should pop right on, but it doesn't; it's offset by about 3/4" to the right. I finally get it lined up and begin tightening the bolts. When done, the shifter is frozen...

    Sounds like a pretty healthy post-fix number. I believe 270 rwhp was the desirable number.

    Crawl underneath and check the stamping on your mufflers, if they're Ford. The "post-fix" muffler replacements are stamped 7509, I believe. I didn't have the sticker or manifold dot, either, but got a date when the car was taken in for "the fix". Enjoy!
