Can you run power steering and A/C on the same belt?

jbeuning, You are da MAN! That idea of using the ALT and A/C on the same belt looks like the best chance of making thia work. Iused a Gates 7580 belt and it looks pretty clean. The real test will be once I get the A/C system hooked up and charged and turn on that compressor, but here is a...

Can you run power steering and A/C on the same belt?

Thanks for all the help and advice, I will be working on this over the weekend and will let you know what worked or not. As for the so called "bolt-on" kits, it is not as simple as they make it out. If anyone else has any ideas or suggestions let me know.

Can you run power steering and A/C on the same belt?

I have tried to see the belt setup on the Classic Auto Air picture but it is not clear so going to the Alternator I am not sure will work but I am looking at all options. Dark Budda, I am wondering if the setup on my 351W the pulley's are a little more spread apart than the 302 because it...

Can you run power steering and A/C on the same belt?

Thanks for the input, I was wondering if you could run both without any issues. I have seen another bracket offered on another vwebsite but this raises the compressor two more inches and looks like it does not belong. You said that you used a different compressor bracket but I am concerned...

Can you run power steering and A/C on the same belt?

I am trying to retrofit a Sanden A/C compressor in my 69 351W and have run into a bracket issue that holds the adjuster. It seems that the 351w in 69 is unique and difficult to find. So I have two options run one belt for the P/S and A/C or try and modify a 302 bracket that will need some...

AOD swap where do you start.

I couldn't help but chime in on this one because there seems to be some confusion. I have a 69 351W FMX car and the total switch over cost was about $600 including a decent AOD. Shop around for an AOD there are alot of them to choose from but get a 92 or older one. I used the same flywheel and...

    Front Timing Cover Oil Leak

The slinger looks like a large washer, and has a notch to line up with the woodruff key. It would be on the crank shaft in front of the small timing gear, once the cover is removed it would be staring right at you. As mentioned before, keeps oil away from the seal and can be easily overlooked...

    69 351W question: is the timing pointer at 10 or 11 o'clock?

I hate to break this to you but on mine it is about 1:00 because mine is mounted on the drivers side. I have heard of both on our year cars but all I can tell you is mine is the original engine and location. I am still trying to figure out what bolts this pointer uses on the timing cover

    Any Power Steering Gurus Here?????

One more thing to try is to remove the cover off the control valve and adjust the screw under it. I am not sure which way is what but you should be able to figure it out

Help a CHEVY guy build a 69 stang!

Chevelle, as you can see you will have different opinions. I would recommend giving us some of your VIN numbers for some positive ID's on some of your equipment. I have a 9 in. with my 69 351W and it is not a Mach or Boss so I would not say all others would have a 8 in. One way to get a quick...

When you said dash you mean the area around the black insert and gauges correct? If so this sounds ok, would be interested in seeing the finished product.

Help a CHEVY guy build a 69 stang!

Just cause I love my 69 doesn't mean I don't appreciate other muscle cars, so welcome. The stock 351W 4V in 69 had 10.5 to 1 compression stock, you might get by on 87 but might have to keep the timing back some. I have a stock 3 row radiator in mine and it works great compared to the two...

    AOD Swap help

Well Geo, now you have me wondering, when the cable is depressed it does bottom on the inner casing. Is this correct? I don't know for sure but my car seems to work fine with this setup but it does make me wonder if that is limiting my throttle movement on top end. The car seems to be performing...
