Actually one of them lines up pretty close but the other will have to be cut or made. Geo, sorry I have not gotton under the car yet for your cable but will get it.

    AOD Swap help

I will check this out tonight but this could be the issue because not all carbs can just attach the cable to the existing kickdown lever. I know that Lokar sells a bracket that keeps the geometry correct between the two so that you can go full throttle without bottoming out. My cable is set...

    AOD Swap help

Sorry if I made it more confusing but if you move the bracket and have more cable showing it defeats the purpose of the spring. Lokar describes on my setup where to install the bracket and it has worked fine for me. The only other thing you might try is cutting some of the coils off the spring...

I have the Super turbos with 2.5 mandrel bend flowmaster pipes and a H-pipe, love the sound and my 393W responds well. :nice:

How do I replace third member???

I agree, Taylors instructions are simple and accurate. If you decide to change the rear axle bearings you will need to take it to someone to have them changed and if you don't know if they ever have been changed, change them! Not familiar with the Auburn setup but they also recommend changing...

How do I replace third member???

As for the quanity it will take about 1 1/2 quarts of gear lube and a I recommend 75w90 synthetic. Costs more but worth it and you will never need to change it.

    interior black spray paint

I have always liked the Krylon #1613 semi-gloss. It gives it the best of both worlds, not to glossy and not to flat. I also recommend that Plastic primer with the bulldog on it (I wish I could remember the name) but it makes the paint stick.

Lowering the rear raised the front?

I guess let's start with the leaf springs. They will settle and you probably will gain the 1.5 in. total drop. But I am a little confused about the front, Is this a stock front suspension? If it is then you will have the front higher than the back, you need to compensate by lowering the front...

    Front of a 70

HOLD ON GENTLEMEN! If you want to make this swap you have to change the fenders, hood moldings and grille assembly! I have a 69 and would like to see this combo but it will be costly. If you doubt what I am saying check out your parts sources.

    yoke/universial pics....is this right?

That picture scares me! I agree that the joint should have come apart, you are fortunate. When I switched from a FMX to AOD, I broke down and purchased a yoke from National parts that accepted my stock u-joint :nice:

    Dying a black dash?

You should get the paint from a mustang supplier if you want a good match. As for the wiping down the dash you might consider this spray for vinyl and plastic that I purchased at walmart or autozone, It is a spray that you use before painting and has a picture of a bulldog on it.

    Question on replacing headliner.

I will add do not buy a cheap headliner! I bought two before I got a good one that is made of thicker material. Also, on the 69 you do not have to remove the front glass because there is a interior molding piece that can hold and hide the trim work. I installed mine from front to rear and use 3M...

    351w runs hot

I have to ask, did the water pump get changed during all that work? As for the fan, it needs to be about an inch from the radiator.

Believe it or not:I fixed my timing/stalling problem!

I hate to disagree, but before I changed the cam all external leaks were checked for pulled a solid 17 in. vacuum and when I disconnected the PCV line and left it open it ran great and would not stall. Plus I could advance the timing to 20+ initial with no pinging, I wish I could say it was...

    need help: roller rockers

I just installed my cam and lifters last weekend and I agree with Ronstang except for one item. If you are using new lifters that are not pumped up, only adjust the rods so there is no backlash, NO 1/2 to 3/4 turn more. If you have to add some tightening do not go more than a 1/4 turn. I know a...

Believe it or not:I fixed my timing/stalling problem!

Yes, as far as I know there was no obvious problem with the old cam and appeared to be ok. The biggest difference was that the old one was used and the new cam was right out of the box. This cam was also for a 351W instead of 302, but besides that and double checking the assembly it now works.

Believe it or not:I fixed my timing/stalling problem!

This is a happy day for me and my 69 393W. After trying to find why after my rebuild that the car would die when I put it in gear and why I needed so much timing to get my car to idle correct, the cam was the problem! I went in and removed my cam and installed a new one and everything cam right...

Anybody else running an Accel Billetproof distributor?

You are right about it being like an HEI, it will either be the module in the distributor or the coil that is heating up and failing. Try using a heat gun or hairdryer and warming one of them up to see if it will fail. I have one but not enough run time to tell you if it is a good buy or not.
