    Its back in. Found the 1 in header bolts were too long to tighten the headers to the heads, so got some 3/4 in ones. Darn near stripped one of the holes, but its on there and straight. Hook up the exhaust, put in spark plugs, then the accessories, carb and radiator.

    Had some of this on my 89. New switch on the drivers side did not work if installed too tight. Then, I was able to clean and fix the original. Left the new switch in and both windows now work. Much easier than later cars with modules to control this stuff.

    Plastiguage

    I have always used plastigage with dry bearings and crank. If the crank had oil on it for preservation, just clean the journals with a paper towel and carb cleaner to measure. You are not rotating the crank during the check, should not hurt anything. Then oil the crank when you are done.
