    Valve Cover baffles

I used a set of black, stamped steel covers from a GT40 crate motor on mine to clear the 1.7's. Fit fine with no interference, but don't look really blingy. I kind of like it myself.

Wild strawberry anyone? Needs paint, but not too bad for 14 years old.

Best cam for a stock motor....need a stright answer

If you have other plans for your engine in the future, don't waste the money or the installation time on a cam now. I know that's not answering the question you asked, but it's good advice...the stock piece is plenty and gets the best marks for power, drivability and sound. Get some...

New Tires for my Pony Wheels - SIZE?

I run Avon 225/55 ZR's from the Tire Rack. OEM tires on Rolls/Bentley at around $400 shipped and installed. They are supremely quiet but grip very well. I've found the wheel wells look funny if you have anything shorter. I've also used Bridgestone 245/50's and 225/60's. The 245's were great...

    Quick GT40P Question

Yeah, it's rough not being able to get home often. Our second kid is on the way and travelling is just plain hard. However, if I was working at home, I wouldn't be able to afford all of the goodies ;) Anyway, you'll need the FRPP headers to go with the p heads. MAC sells a set of p specific...

    Quick GT40P Question

No times yet, since I only get home about once a year these days. Got the gears in over the summer and it felt like a different car. Current setup is probably good for low 14's or so. The stockish AOD really holds it back.

    Quick GT40P Question

You can use all of the old pushrods and rockers from your Mustang engine with the new heads. I would get new lifters while you're at it as one of my 150,000 mile jewels has collapsed and makes a nasty racket at speed. You can reuse them later. The HO cam is a nice piece with the "P" heads...

    3.73's and highway speeds

Imagine running a 156,000 mile Chevy Bel Air 4 door with a 2 bbl 283, Powerglide, 3.36 gears and 14 in. wheels at 65mph. I have no idea what it was turning at those speeds, but guess what...17 mpg and ran like a champ. Yeah, it used a little oil but you would too if your valve stem seals were...

    AOD w/ Shift Kit ...

A tight TV cable will cause those symptoms. Sticky bores in the valve body will do it as well. Who put in the shift kit, or do you know? Tough luck on the loss man. I don't want to know what that feels like. Anyway, let us know what you find out.

How can i put a AODE in my 1990 GT Vert?

A Baumannator TCS is the only way to run the AODE in a Fox that I know of. You would do well to read through that site and perhaps use the parts from the 4R70W which was the wide-ratio version of the electronic AOD used in the 96-04 v-6 Mustangs to rebuild your current AOD. Look up nosmatt on...

New Cobra Replica intake made in China?!!

Well well, I think I have a little experience here. First, buy the early Explorer intake as it flows the same as the GT40 / Cobra, I think it's made in the US, and it looks almost stock with the 5.0 HO intake plate. As for China, I live there. I make good money and invest it right back here...

Just got the 5.0 HO 89 GT. Where to start?

Anywhere from 15-25 mpg depending on how and where you drive it. Mine was around 22-23 before the gear swap; maybe better now if I'm just around town.

    Advancing stock cam

Tanks Thom. My intake is bad on the #4 cyl. and I can depress it by hand as well. It's not as loud as yours, but I'm pretty sure the valve is not completely opening. Have to replace it when I return home in two weeks.

Just got the 5.0 HO 89 GT. Where to start?

The search buttons on this and other forums are invaluable. I find that wading through all of the same old questions gets old and threads that are not re-hashes of the same old questions get buried quickly. Welcome to the boards, but do use the search function and save board space for new...

    Advancing stock cam

Not to hijack the thread, but Tom, I just replaced my rockers with 1.7's and I'm getting a pretty hard tapping noise at around 2000 rpm as well as a vibration. Sounds like it's coming from the #3 or #4 cyl. What did your's sound like? Can you send me a PM?
