    I have AFS 18x10.5's with 295/35/18 Toyo Proxes on my 99 w/ an 03 Cobra IRS which has the same dimensions. One of the bolts is close but it hasn't rubbed yet!

    I understand your concerns about the T45 -- I had the same ones at a lower power level (than you would be boosted). In hindsight I think it is a very strong trans. Sure the syncro's can't hold up to constant powershifting at high RPM but will you need to do that as often with boost?

    Interesting... Who told you it was a syncro bent & that the assembly was at fault? From my limited knowlegde about the internals of transmissions, a syncro could be chipped and a shift fork could be bent. An improper shift can bend a shift fork or ruin a syncro. I'm not saying you did this...

    What are your long term goals for the car? A rebuild sounds like a good idea to me. While I do like the 03 motor I would not choose it for my car, I'd choose to build up the motor that came with my car. Twin turbos is my long term goal, that is many years away though unless I win the lottery :)

    99 Cobra strange noise from engine

    It could be the drivers side PCV. I had some noises that I pinned down the the PCV valve. While the motor is running unplug it from the drivers side and stick your finger on it and see if the noise goes away.

    I love my Billet Aluminum Flywheel, McLeod dual friction clutch w/ King Cobra pressure plate and Firewall Clutch Adjuster! It is very streetable and can hold up at the track.
