Running Lean, will I hurt numbers by fattening my A/F out?

I thought you might have meant that, but I just wanted to clarify for the original post. I also noticed the largest gains to be after 5000 rpms. on my graphs. Big difference. My peak gains only went from 241 to 250 rwhp. and 285 - 292 rwtq. Chips are awesome. Not only did my car...

Horrible gas mileage after O/R X pipe

My car was running lean after my Bassani X pipe was installed. Is your check engine light on? I had my a/f corrected with a tune. Perhaps my car would have adjusted for the x pipe over time and leaned up the mixture a bit, but I wanted to be sure.

Running Lean, will I hurt numbers by fattening my A/F out?

I had my a/f tuned to a 13.0ish:1 ratio because it was running like 11:1 before the tune. The tweaks to my a/f and engine timing netted some small gains across the entire two curves. This was all done on a dyno of course. My tuners did not want to push my a/f up any higher than the low...

Evalute my 1/4 time.. por favor

You need practice, not another mod. Practice is way underrated. Practice will help with your missed shifts and your poor 60ft. times. To answer your question regarding 3.27's, I stayed in 3rd gear through the traps.

What to get I need more low end power from bolt ons

Nothing left to do with just bolt-ons and you already bumped up your timing with your chip. 4.10's or 4.30's would help it feel like you have more low end power. Longtubes won't give you any more low end power. See this graph if you want to compare...

    It's Alive! 4.10 + 75 mm tb/plenum

No to the induction question, it won't do much good with your stock mid-pipe. Drop a K&N filter into your stock airbox and work on getting rid of your stock mid-pipe. You will feel and difference. Once again, your stock MAF is fine, but do what you want.

If you replaced your stock H pipe read this

If you are running an o/r pipe and no MIL eliminators, it's only a matter of time before your check engine light will pop up. Mine came on with cats.

    It's Alive! 4.10 + 75 mm tb/plenum

Since you asked for advice which is really just opinions here goes. Don't bother with the headers or the C&L MAF if you plan on staying n/a and never doing any internal engine work (i.e. cams). Instead I'd suggest a new mid-pipe and cat-back exhaust. The mid-pipe will provide nice hp...

    Long Tube Header Question

Just an FYI - you can't just buy longtube headers by themselves and install them. You will need a new mid-pipe as well. So the cost is really the headers + the mid-pipe.

Your numbers look right for your mods. They are good numbers, you should be happy. Thanks for sharing.

    The Aftermarket TB/Plenum Advantage

That makes some sense. Thanks for taking a stab at it. So, if I understand correctly, it’s more about the velocity and smoothness of the airflow entering the engine that in turn allow the engine to intake more volume. With that being said, there is obviously some point where the CFM from...

    The Aftermarket TB/Plenum Advantage

We all know that fuel is made up of gasoline and air. More air + more gasoline = more power. However, in naturally aspirated form, our engines are only capable of ingesting a very specific volume of air. How does changing the stock plenum and TB add any more volume of air into engine? It’s...

    PLENUM RESULTS ARE IN!!!!!!!!!!!

Now can you test all the plenums with stock 65mm TB? Just kidding, but I do wonder if the larger TB is needed on N/A cars with these plenums. Going from 70 to 75mm didn't really change a thing, but we all know the CFM increased. So I wonder if going from 65 to 70mm is really going to add any...

Goin back to the dyno on wensday...

Yup, that's me. I have yet to see any '99+ GT make the power numbers you are discussing without some internal engine work. That's all I am saying. The bottom line is that a dynamometer is a profit center for any performance shop and aftermarket equipment manufacturer. Keep that in mind...

New Plenum test on the way!

No one is attacking your credibility. It's cool that you are doing this. I am just beginning to question the validity of dyno results in general. What could explain your baseline being 9rwhp higher than your last baseline? Here are a few possibilities: - different rear tire pressure...

New Plenum test on the way!

Exactly, but the problem is that a lot of the 2V mods. result in "a few extra horses" as you put it. Therefore, when you add minor mods. like pullies, plenums, TB's, CAI's, ect., the gain some people see could simply be the vairance in dyno runs. That's my point and I think that's yours as...

New Plenum test on the way!

I still don't understand why the baselines could be 5 rwhp. diffierent. Guess the first plenum test was flawed if the baselines were not correct. Clearly, the 256/289 baseline in the first plenum test was inaccurate. If the test car baselined higher this time, then the gains from the first...
